Umista thinks fans that stand during the games are inconsiderate a$$es

I asked this once before on the forum and didn't really get a response. When people say we're "smart fans" because we stand and yell when we're on defense, but we're really quiet when we're on offense, I have to wonder if there are some places where people are so f***[*] stupid that they do the opposite. Is there such a place?
Believe it or not, Arizona Cardinals games. Have been there multiple times when the visiting team has large numbers of fans. When Seahawks or Niners fans get loud and start yelling when there team is on defense, Cardinals fans think its some sort of a challenge and start yelling to try to be louder than the Seahawks fans, even though the Cardinals are on offense......It's quite hilarious.

Apparently MSU also hasn't quite figured out that they need to be quiet on offense:

You yell when the Cats defense is on the field. When the Cats offense is on the field, you should remain silent! Some people have yet to figure this out.

Oh my goodness. How can one fan base be so cringe worthy?

Some people just can't grasp that there is no symphony seating etiquette at football games. None! If you want to sit with an unobstructed view, buy the seats in front of you.

Courtesy would suggest that is isn't proper to stand in front of someone blocking their view. Those that think they are privileged to stand in front of people sitting should watch the game on television.

If you're too lazy and uninspired to get off your ass and yell during a crucial 3rd down, I'm pretty sure there's a recliner with your name on it somewhere... :thumb:

If my section is standing, I stand. If sitting, I sit. Either way I'm yelling my ass off when the opposing offense is on the field. The issue to me has never been about sitting or standing, rather being loud as shiz to help the defense out. I have noticed a steady decline in fans screaming and giving it all they have, especially over the last 10 years. That does frustrate me.

There are times to stand and times to sit. It's really not that complicated.

Agreed. I have been sitting in the north end zone for 15 years and I can tell you there has never been a time when everyone around us stood the whole game. I am older than most that sit around us and I stand at the appropriate times (defense) and I sit when there is no need to be standing. I occasionally turn to see if I am distracting anyone behind us. That is simply being considerate. I have never told anyone to sit down nor have I ever been told to sit down. I have had the occasional fan in front of us that felt the need to stand the whole game and he has pissed off most everyone around him. That is uncharacteristic since most those around us have season tickets and respect each other. Hi fives on good plays etc. Usually the ones that stand are those that got ahold of someone else's seat for one game and they are trying to fit three people into one seat since they don't have seats of their own.

You can be a loud and avid fan without being a jerk to people around you. :thumb:

Probably Everettgriz's parents. They travel from Spokane every game rain or snow for their seats in the NEZ. There are no better fans.

What happened to their son? If memory serves me he is another mr know it all. Most of his posts are pure poppycock plain and simple.

To quote the old Dr Science, "He knows more than you do."
