Umista thinks fans that stand during the games are inconsiderate a$$es

I feel sorry for Umista if I'm in front of him cuz he isn't gonna see shit. Bring on your "physical violence" cuz I'm the type that don't mind a good scrap every once in a while. ;)

Why have seats in the stadium if everyone is going to stand? Maybe there should be a section with no seats for those that want to stand.

I stand pretty much the whole damn game. Here's my favorite part.....when I first got my season tix, I had this elderly couple behind us. When I say elderly, I'm talking easily 80 years old or up. I was worried they would get angry with me if I stood. Well first game in, I was half standing and trying to bend to give them a window of sight while I screamed like a gorilla or steroids. Right off the bat, the old guy and his wife ju,p up and I hear him say, "get on up you bunch of candy asses!!" And he proceeds to join me in my gorilla mating calls. I LOVED it!! They stand and scream most the game and high five everyone around them. He loves that I have a smart phone and can tell him the scores of the other games going on in the Big Sky. It's a win win. If he can stand, everyone can stand. Stay home if you want to sit... Ya candy asses! :D

Probably Everettgriz's parents. They travel from Spokane every game rain or snow for their seats in the NEZ. There are no better fans.

I agree with Zen. You gotta stand and yell on D, esp on 3rd down. Even my old man gets up on 3rd down and he's 75. It's energy people and it's why WaGriz is a tough place for visitors. But please shut up when we have the ball.

What happened to their son? If memory serves me he is another mr know it all. Most of his posts are pure poppycock plain and simple.

I agree with Umista...and I support his message. Frankly if you tried and stood in front of me all game, you'd end up on your ass anyway. :)

Gee, what happened to their son?

I asked this once before on the forum and didn't really get a response. When people say we're "smart fans" because we stand and yell when we're on defense, but we're really quiet when we're on offense, I have to wonder if there are some places where people are so fucking stupid that they do the opposite. Is there such a place?

I agree! You think that tight bastard could pop for a smart phone for his parents! I would check the Jitterbug selection of fine phones.

It probably is my parents. They're crazy-assed fans. On Mondays, they don't have any voice left to yell at the damn kids to get off their lawn.

As for buying them a smart phone, they can barely figure out how to answer they one they have. Sometimes I wonder if they attend all the games because they cannot figure out how to work their television.

Put out the fire girls! Hammer by yourself because NONE of you will hide the game from me by standing, sitting, kneeling, drinking, smoking or farting. I have all the area in front of me clear and unobstructed for the entire Wa Griz field.

I holler, stand, sit, drink, and dis-like the refs like all proper Griz Fans! I have not missed a Griz home game for 28 seasons. I am proud to be a Griz fan. If Griz fans yell, sit or stand that is up to them. I am glad they do what they want.

No I don't want to meet any growley Griz fan at the Mo club at high noon other than to have a cold one. For self respecting Griz fans to side with a lower life "long time scat fan" is a bit over the top and troubling.

DISCLOSURE TIME: I ADMIT TO SWILLING WAY TO MANY LAST EVENING! BOOZE OVER FLOWED MY BRAIN.
I WAS WRONG. DUMB DRUNK. I AM SORRY IF YOU GOT PISSY OVER MY "SIT DON'T STAND".... STAND!

See all of U at the game Griz Fans!

I try my best to pay attention to my surroundings. I feel restricted quite often at GRIZ games these days. The best option is to offer to swap seats with whoever does not have the luxury of being able to stand for the game. I wish I could get season tickets in the NEZ where more people are standing and getting crazy.

Authorities should look into hammers threats of violence, there is no need for that and it should be looked into immediately. Its pure poppycock plain and simple.

IMO, I think the University should put a disclaimer on all NEZ tickets that people will stand and cheer during the game. Purchase at your own risk

The NEZ has lost a lot over the past several years, we used to be much louder, but I think it became fashionable to be able to say you had tickets in the NEZ, and now that they got them they feel like they do not have to uphold the reputation of being the Whacko's. Their are many times when those of us who have had our seats for years, get told to sit down, even though we have stood and were loud, long before it was the cool place to sit. I am amazed every year when I am talking to the new people around us and find that a friend bought the tickets and gave them up for all but one game, so the people that are using them have no idea of what to expect, and sit and complain about us standing and being as loud as we can.

Well then it's up to you to teach them the ways of the NEZ! Let them know if they sit there they need to be a part of that tradition! :thumb:
