EWU receivers quit. Period. They just seemed disinterested for most of the 4th quarter.

This EWU team seems to be a huge drop off from the receivers that they have had in the past.

Game looked pretty ugly halfway through the 2nd....was afraid it was gonna get away from them, but the whole team buckled down and from that point outscored EWU 31-3.

Biggest play of the game was the pass to Knight on the drive that cut the lead to 14-10. From that point on, Griz showed the confidence on both sides of the ball that they were going to win the game.

Agreed. Something is off at EWU. They may be going downhill. Just don’t have any killer instinct. I was talking to the EWU fans next to me and they agreed that something was missing. A year ago a 3rd and long was practically guaranteed. Now, not so much

UM got through 4 drops, 3 in first half, and a blown press coverage, made nice adjustments at halftime, and almost ran away with it in the 2d half.

Humphrey played well, with a few bad throws and mistakes. Showed he can scramble and has nice speed and pretty good running ability. Was mostly cool and calm for a first start. Nice arm. Missed a few throws.

Receivers dropped 4 balls, 3 in first half. Akem and 2 frosh. Blown press coverage was a frosh. A late and untimely motion penalty was a frosh. UM recovered well after JLM's rare fumble of a punt. Our punt defender never touched the guy who got down field and tackled JLM; otherwise, JLM might have recovered for a nice run.

UM should have had a couple TD's in first half. Need to do better than that, to win tough games.

Nice effort by D, especially in 2d half. Must have been very good adjustments at the half. The short passes to sideline didn't hurt us much in 2 half. EWU was really blocking those well, especially in first half. EWU got almost no yards the second half, except for 63 and 66 yard drives. The rest were 3, 4, -2, 2, -9, -1. That's awesome. Looks Griz held EWU to 126 yards in second half.

Knight had a super game, except for the late fumble, and deserved player of game. He's very good. Hit hole well, keeps his feet and spins, has some moves, has nice speed, and finishes off runs.

Great UM special teams play. Nice kicking by kicker and punter. Punter, Wilson, averaged 49. Key FG's goals by Purdy. Great hit by Graves on a punt. Good coverage all around. Foster had 3 nice returns, 2 KO and 1 punt.

Only 2 penalties by UM. 5 by EWU.

TOP was 37:39, UM, to 22:31. That was terrific. Our first long drive for the FG, took over 7 minutes, I believe.

TO was 430 to 365. Our 3d down conversions were 12-20 and were better before the end of game. EWU wa4-15.

Humphrey was 20-29 for 176 and 1 TD. Again, 4 drops. His throw to the TE was low, but still needed to be caught. Knight was 26-31 for 131, and 5.0 per carry. Ostmo was 18-79, and 4.4. 254 yards rushing.

O-line play seemed pretty good to me, except for several plays. JLM had some nice plays. Receivers had some good blocks. Humphrey threw a back block on and a play, and got knocked on his butt. Good for him.

Corner and secondary play was good or pretty good. We were lucky that last long throw by EWU in end zone got dropped. EWU had it share of drops. I thought the EWU qb wasn't as good as several qb's the Griz have faced.

Is a TE hurt or why is the frosh Elwell playing so much. Didn't notice Sulser, even on sideline.

Refs missed a facemark call. Thought they may not have missed the earlier one, but the crowd didn't agree with me. Otherwise, the refs seemed pretty good. Big Sky reffing seems better to me this year, in the games I've seen.

Rensvold has been out for a few games

And what’s with Sulser? Hurt?

Sulser=Concussion protocol. :thumb:

Sulser has had several concussions during his high school days....they are treating him very conservatively regarding his latest concussion.....I think we can all agree with that...

I kept waiting for the coaching staff to tell Best that white is not a slimming color.
