Reality is that this UND team has the players to compete, yet lacks the consistency to put forth a team ready to consistently hang with the top teams in the big sky. That said this is in their house and they are improved, so il say 35-17 griz. If griz come out flat I the second half, they'll definitely have an opponent capable of beating them in this one, however, if the griz play to even 1/2 their potential they win this one with ease. UND is still at least 2-3 years and some great coaching from being a top dog in this league IMO

Good points. Their defense is starting to look like defenses of UND years ago, unfortunately for them the offense is not good. Hard to look at last weeks game for either the Cats or the Sioux (they will always be the Sioux to me) ,with the wind and rain, for comparison. I expect a low scoring game, 20-10, or 17-10.

Serious question: Last year we put up 609 yards and 55 points on them in their house, winning 55-17 going away. Have they gotten that much better, or have we gotten that much worse?

Two things, and I think you will agree with one. First, the Griz offense isn't as good as last year. Second the UND defense was pathetic last year, and is a lot better. So add those two together there is the difference. Here is a Massey comparison of defense ranks year to year.
Griz offense went from 15 to 21
Griz defense went from 31 to 11 Great improvement
UND offense went from 89 to 92 Went from sucking to sucking worse
UND defense went from 88 to 44 Great improvement

So my perception is even though the Griz defense improved, and the Sioux went down, it doesn't effect the game as much Point Spread wise. The Sioux couldn't score before either.

The Great Improvement on Defense of UND with the decline of the Griz offense effects the game more. Bigger changes, and the Griz can still score.

Not saying the Griz lose, just saying it looks closer from this perspective, and from watching the games. What do you think AZ

UM is a good team that hasn't played up to its potential this year, although nothing to hang your head about considering who you lost to.

UND does not look like a very good team.

I think UM starts to turn things around and wins big, 44-17

Again, their numbers were accomplished against the likes of Stony Brook and Robert Morris. Ours were against NDSU & Wyoming. That massive difference in OOC SOS skewing our early season offensive numbers to a large degree. And yet our DEFENSIVE numbers were accomplished against those same teams, perhaps UNDERSELLING the improvement in the defense.

I think something along the lines of 38-10, 38-13.

I originally picked the Griz to win this one in a close one. However as this week has gone on I feel this is a trap game! ND shut MSU run game down on the road. So I think at home they will be dialed in and do the same. It seems MSU has had its offense clicking, especially it's passing game. I think ND looks to for JJ to beat them with a passing game. I am certain ND is planning on putting a ton of pressure on our O line and getting to JJ to rattle him.

Combine all that with ND look to avenge last years blow out.

ND 14
Griz 7

Let's hope our coaching staff will let JJ scramble a bit more to maybe throw a wrinkle in ND game plan!

Griz won't lose this one and will win comfortably.

Last year was 55-17. While I think we've regressed (offensively), and UND may have even gotten a bit better, I don't see a 45 point swing.

Coaches come out on fire and don't let off the gas so the fan base will relax a little...127-13

UM 35
UND 10

25 points like last week and I will still call for Gregoraks head!

UND has a solid defense, the Griz have a better defense. The Griz have a solid, if unspectacular, offense, UND has a struggle on offense. Griz get a much better result in trip #2 to the beautiful state of North Dakota.

Griz - 31
UND "______" - 13

Go Griz!!

I thought they were still the "fighting Sue"?!

Right now, Gregorak looks like our best coach. :thumb:

Yeah, if you want to say that your face beat the hell out of someone's hand.

Guy has NFL talent all over this team. Let's see what he does when we play a real offense, unlike NDSUs cryptic pro style that gained 450+.
