Phew, UM wins 83-80! Probably wouldn't have been so close if we shoot our free throws better, not to mention NAU hitting EVERYTHING the last few minutes! Good win!

Nice win. They (almost) squandered a 16-point lead, but found a way to get it done. That's all you can ask. Cherry ends up with 27. Jones hits 30 for NAU.

That said, Griz have to make FTs, or every game all year will be like this. But give NAU credit. Man, they came storming back and couldn't miss in the 2nd half. They're going to win a shitload of games in this league.

This is why NAU has played a bunch of good teams close, but has no wins against them. Their players are only really good down the stretch when the opposing teams are tired, have lots of fouls and aren't playing as good of defense. Your players, have to be, you know, good the whole game. Being good down the stretch is nice, but you aren't going to beat anyone good.
