Ugh

Nice victory for ISU! The Dons are a decent club, should win quite a few games... but their offensive gameplan did look pitiful against the ISU zone... pass it around the perimeter and jack a 3 (shot 46 of them), they looked like a rec league team! Big time though for ISU... that is the type of win that at least gives a team and program confidence for the rest of the year.

i think bill evans is one of the unsung heroes of the basketball renaissance at montana--to basketball what brekse was to football, a wonderful defensive strategist, the perfect counterpoint to tinkle's charisma and recruiting ability.

crazy game last night, in that the officials took over in the last ten seconds--first to make a questionable call on idaho state, then turn around and with two seconds left call a foul on a usf player in the backcourt. games shouldn't be decided on questionable fouls late. but usf missed their free throw, and idaho state didn't.

one thing stood out--the composure of the idaho state kids. acted throughout like they expected to win, no wild crazy celebration at the end that you might expect from a 15-point underdog. i see a lot of bill evans's personality in this team, and believe he's going to rebuild that program a lot faster than i thought possible.

Anyone know if JG will be okay for the San Francisco game this weekend? Haven't heard anything since he went down w/ the ankle in the SDSU game.

He was on crutches during the football game against Weber. I kind of doubt he'll be back for the SF game. Hope I'm wrong!

NOTES: Junior guard Jordan Gregory, who left the South Dakota State game with a sprained ankle, is “coming along,” Tinkle said. If he’s not ready Friday, either freshman Brandon Gfeller would start in his place, or freshman point guard Mario Dunn.
