I still need to watch the game on DVR, but his last sack at the end of the 1st half was a brilliant play call by Gregorak. Pre snap, Gregorak lined Holmes up as an OLB. I noticed this and told the guy next to me, Ty is putting him in position for another sack or to cause some confusion. Just before the snap, Holmes shifted more toward his natural DE position. I am not sure how many times in the game Gregorak shifted Holmes around, but I do have a feeling it might be a sign of things to come. Holmes just might be a player that can be used in different ways to utilize best match ups. The guy just may see himself as a combo DE/OLB at the next level. Either way, I enjoy watching Holmes bring agony and horror to opposing offenses.
Big play receivers are big play receivers for a reason. Unless you have a corner on the level of Tru Johnson, they're going to get their yards.mikegriz said:mtgrizrule said:Amazing performance in this game and for the year by Holmes!! I thought I saw that shift not work once, leaving a big hole for the RB to hit. However, without a doubt the rush was really well coached, D was pretty much brilliant, Holmes was brilliant. I bet Cookus was having Tyrone Holmes nightmares lat night! Really glad to see him get POG. Ironically (given the HC's reputation) so far, it looks like the D is going to carry the team. Need to get better on defending the big play receivers though.
