Who do you think Stitt was intending to talk to, confidentially?

That would be pure speculation on my part. But are you contesting that the message was intended to be private? Neither of the accidental messages make sense as stand-alone tweets. Look at his twitter feed - it's filled with positive, rah-rah stuff, like you'd expect from any coach. It's not rational to argue that these 2 tweets were intentional and then removed. "That works for me" was clearly was not meant to be publicly tweeted, and neither was this critique.

Anyone who thinks the tweets were intentionally public wants it to be that way based on a pre-determined opinion of Stitt that everything must now fall in to. Stitt will never be good enough for some here, because he isn't from "within the family."

Might as well bring back Delaney. I mean really, if some posters have this much of a problem with Stitt, which is being blown WAY out of proportion, then Delaney should have never left. He never criticized his players, didn't cut players, was all about mediocrity and by golly people liked him because he was super duper nice.

Stitt has a championship mindset.
Delaney has a "well at least you tried" mindset.

Take your pick.

Urban Meyer has a championship mindset.

Here's something he believes in and you decide if what Stitt did reflects this.

Competition makes everyone better, don't see how that is hard to understand. Put your best 11 on the field and lets go play ball. This year we had to go three deep at QB. Kinda like the DC position, we were good, not great. He knows we have some work to do to compete with the NDSU's of the world. Whats wrong with getting better?

"Competition" without loyalty and cooperation is chaos.

That's a damaging tweet. Players need to be able to believe their coach respects them and means it when he's complimenting them. Stitt praised Gus publicly all year, then tweets this. What are the players supposed to make of it? Will they think he's sincere when he's praising them? Will they think he thinks they're worse than they are when he's ripping them? Stitt is creating a confused lockerroom where no one knows where they stand with him.

Can someone please rephrase exactly what Stitt said in his tweet? I didn't get the opportunity to actually see what he tweeted and then over-analyze it like many.

Don't think it matters what it said, just another opportunity for some to bash Stitt.

I can't wait to hear TG try to fire up his charges with insincere Griz bashing the third week of November.

This reflects perfectly a specific mindset. When you're in love, the object of your affection could commit murder, and when he is accused, the indignant defense will always be "people are always so critical ...".

Except for the fact that he had already talked with BG about his play and told him that he was looking to bring in transfers to compete with him.....nice try though...

There's a rule of thumb among genuine adults that you don't say behind someone's back what you wouldn't say to their face. "Tweets" aside, even private conversations can return to haunt the speaker. The corollary of course is that you don't say the opposite publicly of what you say privately either. And it isn't just that "your word" becomes simply a debased currency that no one takes seriously, it is that no one trusts you to be honest when you speak publicly.

The problem here isn't that the "tweet" was accidentally made public, the problem is the fact that it wasn't meant to be public. That's the point.

you assume that Stitt hadn't already had a truthful talk with BG....

And did either of them look at you during this conversation and wonder why you were there?

Did I have to be there to know that a conversation took place.....

When you make them up, no. You can be anywhere. A plane. In the kitchen. At a bar ....

How many championships did he win in fifteen years at School of Mines, with that championship mindset???
