TV Coverage for this weekend's game

I called KFBB in Great Falls and was told they will be televising the game. Hopefully, he's well informed.

The game is advertised on one of two KFBB channels in Great Falls. I have Dish Network and my local channel KFBB is 5 and that one will have the race, the other local channel is 26 and that will have the game. That is what I am being told by KFBB.

It worries me that their website shows baseball on KFBB at 5 on Saturday.
Earler this week it showed the Griz game.

If all else fails, there is always the sting, and I guarantee they will have the game on.

Too bad thats over 100 miles away from me...

I just spoke to a representative here in Bozeman. They have had a last-minute change and said they will be airing the major-league baseball game on Fox instead of the Griz game. She did say that they sold the game to ROOT sports and so it will be on ROOT and it just has probably not updated yet on the TV Guide. She also said they have an app you can download called " syncback " which will stream the games. Found it and downloading now just to be safe!

The Root sched has been updated: http://northwest.rootsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=25920&ATCLID=208661860" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

is the streaming only for people who get root via directtv, or for anybody? i kinda doubt that latter would be true.

The app "syncback"is for anyone and streams live TV from the local channels. I downloaded it and there are upcoming programs from the news affiliates (ABC, FOX, etc). Now the bigger question is will the Griz game stream on Saturday or will the MLB playoffs. I have ROOT so I'm set but I will check the app just to see out of curiosity. Bigskytv streaming the game too so lots of options.

It's been a crazy busy hectic couple of days here in broadcast TV! There are changes to our original plan. I will paste our official press release below!

Hope you get to watch the game!

MAX MEDIA OF MONTANA's broadcast of Saturday’s Big Sky Conference game between the Montana Grizzlies and the UC Davis Aggies will be carried on ROOT SPORTS as well as available on smartphones and tablets via a free app, the league announced on Thursday.

The game is being produced by Max Media, which was originally scheduled to televise the game throughout the state of Montana. Due to a conflict with Major League Baseball playoffs on the Max Media Fox affiliates, the networks are unable to air the football game. MAX MEDIA has contracted with ROOT SPORTS to show Max Media’s production. The game will still air live on KULR-8, Max Media’s NBC affiliate in Billings.

Coverage will begin at 5 p.m. Mountain, 4 p.m. Pacific from Aggie Stadium in Davis, Calif. Chris Byers will handle the play-by-play duties with Grady Bennett serving as color commentator. Anna Cole will be the sideline reporter.

The game will be televised live on ROOT SPORTS in Montana, northern Idaho, and eastern Washington.
Saturday’s Max Media production will also be available in HD quality on Syncbak, a free app available on smartphones and tablets. Go to the app store and download the Syncbak app and a MONTANA SPORTS NETWORK icon will be available on your device on game day.
The game will also be available for free on WatchBigSky.com.

If only they could get somebody besides Byers to do the PBP we'd be in good shape. His blue & gold bias always carries through when he is doing the Griz games.

So, sports bars outside of Montana, S. Idaho (original announcement said northern and southwest Idaho), and E. Washington will have to stream the game from Big Sky TV.

Syncback is not available everywhere. See Syncback markets: http://www.syncbak.com/mobile/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That sucks that MLB can shove its playoffs down peoples throats.

It's just the way it is in TV land. It's the playoffs in MLB and Nascar, the networks pay a lot of money to both for the rights to air them. Both Cat and Griz games have taken priority over bigger FBS contests in the last couple years so it's not always the case. The playoffs are where they get their biggest amount of viewers and partially recoup the lesser ratings during their respective regular seasons.

Here's a hypothetical, if a BCS bowl was on versus the FCS championship, which one would the major networks air? The way I look at it at least it's on ROOT and online, not perfect but given the circumstance not that bad.

I absolutely agree. It could certainly be a helluva lot worse.
And 99% of the time I'm sure they'd show the BCS bowl.

I am in Oregon and have the Dishnetwork Sports package. It shows the game in HD on Channel 412-38. I am also going to scan FTA satellite right before game time just for the heck of it.
