Haven't had a chance to look at the whole list. BUT, I see the pollsters did keep New Hampshire in the top-25. :o

amazing that northern arizona still gets no love in the polls. they dominate the griz, yet cant gain ground. i think it just shows that it's easier to start high in the polls and maintain than it is to start low and move up.

Sheer f***ing laziness on the part of too many pollsters.

True but I am glad they are ranked for the moment since a win over ranked opponent will help more than if they weren't.

(Of course a Griz win will mean that SDSU should never have been ranked -- taking a page from the Cat troll playbook)

As usual, some interesting results in this week’s poll. First, I had hopes that the Griz might move back into the top-10, but I expected to be disappointed. Go Griz!

The most significant result had to be SE Louisiana blowing out McNeese on McNeese’s home field, 41-7. The Cowboys dropped seven slots, which is higher than normal … although not a lot. But SE La jumped from #25 all the way to #16 -- and you hardly ever see that much of a jump.

I expected James Madison and W&M to move back into the top-25, but they didn’t give JMU quite as much love as I expected.

No further comment needed on UNH or SDSU. Nice to see that Chattanooga finally got some recognition (as I predicted, but was not that hopeful).

If the pollsters are correct, and the GRIZ can take care of business the next three weeks, (big if I know) we would be in consideration for a top 5 seed. (Means a bye and then a home game or two)
Go Griz!

Combined with current results, the poll is heavily influenced by past reputation. So the usual suspects (MT, MSU, EWU in the big sky) tend to automatically get more love from the voters out east who really don't follow western results that closely. So I'd say it's easier to get a better poll slot when you've been there before versus being a new kid on the block trying to break into the mix. While it isn't correct it does seem to be human nature.

I guess our guess was correct the other day. For crying out loud I hope they lose this week so the pollsters will finally stick a fork in them.

Yes the Griz have much to gain in the next three weeks. Winning out (So Dakota, Weber, & bobcats) puts Montana at 10-2 with an excellent shot at a seed (1-8), and an outside shot at a top five if other teams stumble. However, keep in the mind the playoff selection Committee does not base seeding on these poll results. They have their own criteria which sometimes varies considerably from the final season polls. Further they're using a new formula with this year's selection. None the less, these results (#10) do indicate a variety of folks around the country view the Grizzlies favorably. That bodes well for Montana if they finish the season strong.

This is why there should be no polls till mid-point of season...

We don't play SDSU

Edit: Nevermind, I see that this has been covered

Maybe pollsters are just waiting for that patented late-season NAU swoon...

Maybe you missed the results of their game with MSU.
