Is there anyone out there who believes Coastal could beat NDSU? At least the voters nudged them back up one spot.

Man, NAU got hammered down in the votes even more than I expected. But the pollsters also thumped Richmond even harder than I thought they would. Makes me wonder if the Spiders will still be in the running for an at-large. Of course, they mirrored that, in reverse, by moving JMU up a lot more than I expected.

Don’t know what the pollsters see in Bethune-Cookman. Hampton is bad team (even after the win they are 3-8), and yet they seemed in control all the way through. BC needed a late drive to make the score as close as it was at the end (40-35).

Coastal would get killed by NDSU. I actually think they will probably get knocked out in the quarters. Not a very tough schedule. They could surprise me, but I just don't see them being as tough as their record shows. Someone will come to town with a good offense and defense and it will be all over.

Funny, people thought the same thing about CC last season...

As long as CC doesn't have to play somewhere that is really cold and really loud they should do fine.

Two points about Coastal (which we have not watched despite the number of FCS games we get with our dish and with its PPV).

First, while they still have good stats, their schedule this year has been no where near as tough as it was in 2013. Major differences: They played FBS South Carolina last year, Bethune-Cookman (10-2) last year vs Florida A&M (3-9) this year, Hampton (ranked, at one point, I believe) vs Monmouth, and Eastern Kentucky (#14) vs NC A&T *#24).

Second, CC was an unknown quantity and easily overlooked last year. No one is overlooking the team this year.
