It really doesn't matter whether he gets off or not. The incident just cements the idea that the UofM is full of "thugs" in the minds of most of America.
Most of America? u think most of America has their minds on the athletes of the Montana grizzlies? doubt it :thumb:

I think I am going to open up a convenience store. sell cases of beer for $50k...that is what this is going to cost TJ. He should know better and what is he doing that is so important at 3 AM? :(

Nope, only that they don't see anything but the negative about Montana. That, and we field the worst college BB team in the NCAAs.

Try and find someone east of the Mississippi who can pronounce "Helena" properly...and that's o.k. with me too! I've lived every day here...just over 50 yrs...Heaven can't be much better...IMO. No one will be asking me if they can wash my windshield at a stop light today :D

None of that means that drinking and driving is safe though, and I'm pretty sure that's what matters.

Simply put, there's no excuse for someone like Tru to do something like this. He clearly has the money for a taxi, and he has a job that doesn't exactly look highly upon things like this, especially since he has been in trouble before. There's no way to justify this. He did something very stupid. End of story.

Actually, an arrest or legal charge is often the beginning of the story--not the end of the story. We'll see what happens with this one.

Yes, studies showing that texting and driving is 6 times more dangerous than driving while drunk doesn't mean drinking and driving is safe, but it does put some perspective and the comments that drinking and driving is incredibly dangerous or some horrible crime. Hundreds of thousands of people drive after drinking every night, without incident.

Are you actually trying to justify drinking and driving just because it's a former Griz athlete?

You're a sad and pathetic little man. It doesn't matter if texting and driving is more dangerous, that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Nothing. Drinking and driving is still dangerous, whether hundreds of thousands of people get away with it or not.

Who's trying to justify drinking and driving? Not me. I'm just putting it in perspective, and pointing out a dui arrest does not equal a dui. People like you want to crucify people for allegedly drinking and driving, yet you text and drive and drive while talking on a cell phone all the time. You are more dangerous than someone who has a few beers and drives.

Let's bet $100 whether Johnson sends up being convicted of or pleading to a dui. If he does, you get $100. If not, then you pay me $100. Let's see if you have the balls to put your money where your mouth is.
Based upon what I've read playerrep will win this bet... Calcutta anyone??

I'm currently west of the Mississippi and having been working near Helena for months. I can assure you that not one person in Montana says Helena the way they say it where I am....of course its Helena, OK. And they pronounce it Ha-lee-na. First time I said Hell-en-a....I got the weirdest looks, and then the chuckles..."oh he's not from around here". In Arkansas they say it the same way as here also. So perhaps in Montana we are wrong?

I bet the guy who drinks 50 beers is a lot worse at driving then the guy who texts 50 words. Note he says "someone who has a few beers and drives". Of course we also know that wearing your seat belt is pretty dangerous too, yet I am required to do so....by law.

And I speak from experience, I have two family members killed in accidents BECAUSE they had seat belts on. Even mentions in the police accident report for my father, that if he had not had his seat belt on, he would have survived. Personally you can spin all this bull puckey anyway one wants.

In the end does it really matter if you're drunk and driving or texting and driving? Both are deadly. The nit-picking as to which is worse reminds me of a bunch of 3rd graders, saying "my brother can beat up your brother".

And since I'm on a rant....

The dumbest people in the world are those that present "a study" as facts. I guess you have to understand the most basic concept behind the majority of "a study". The intent is to reach a conclusion that supports your theory. And yes I know people will deny that too. I am quite certain that AG could finance a study, that would support drinking Absolute while driving, is safer than driving with both hands on the wheel, eyes facing forward, and driving defensively.

Does anyone here believe that "a study" from a tobacco company, an insurance company, and an "independent" group would all come to the same conclusion about the effects of smoking? They never did, not even when people started dying but we all know the truth now anyway right?

None of this is directed at Rimrock directly, it just happens that his post is what I quoted.

I am confused on what you found so offense, this is a fact and a life style, that the Supreme Court is about to rule that two men or two women are allowed to marry.

If you can't handle the visual of what goes on behind closed bedroom doors, then perhaps you can't handle the life style that the picture depicted.

How are you going to react, when scenes like this are view on TV, as they are viewed by hetrosexual scenes are now.

Perhaps, you should grow up, and all that found the picture as offensive, this is life, and this is what goes on in the gay community, accept it,they have.

This is OK to be taught in government sponsored schools, and you are offended when someone reflects reality upon you.

Get use to it, it is just starting,

Nice try... you would get the same reaction from me if it were a man & a woman, or two women in the same situation. I don't really care what you do behind closed doors or what you like to view on the internet, but eGriz is not an appropriate venue for images of that nature.
