Tru will play safety in the NFL. I have said this for two years. He does have the hips to play CB, nor the speed. Watch it happen.

Don't agree. Tru is a cover corner who's strengths are in press and shadow coverage. He has very good hips and fluidity for his size and has good ball skills. He doesn't have great speed, but if he did, he would be a first rounder instead of a 2nd or 3rd rounder. When you have a guy with his size and his fluidity and skill that's a weapon and he could have a long career as a press corner in the NFL. A lot of people think moving from corner to safety isn't a tough transition, but it can be for a lot of players. Tru hasn't proven he can make an open field tackle other than a swing route and he's never had to zone cover the middle of the field. Not saying Tru can't or won't be a safety, but most people just look at his size and 40 time and don't access his real strengths.

I think the perfect role for Tru would be the role that Charles Woodson plays in Green Bay. He's able to play physical, flex out to defend who he wants...it's like a hybrid CB/S role...Tru would do great in it IMO.

Are you serious? Charles Woodson, one of the best corners of all time? 4.4 40 guy.

PT, you truly don't understand the game of football, do you. You should keep your stupidity to yourself.

I'll repeat myself again, I was not comparing Tru to Charles Woodson. I was saying he could play the role that Charles Woodson does...the one that he started playing when he was in his 30's, when he couldn't run a 4.4 anymore. Obviously Tru isn't the player Woodson is, I never said he was. Reading comprehension sir.

Look, you compared Johnson to Woodson. Perhaps you should work on your writing ability, instead of expecting people to read your mind. However, no matter how you try to explain your dumb comment now, it's still dumb.

Look, lets go over what I actually said and try to get you to understand this. "I think the perfect role for Tru would be the role that Charles Woodson plays in Green Bay." Now then, do you see where I said, "role". I never implied that Tru was as good as Woodson, maybe you took it that way, but if you did, that's your own fault. I was very clear with what I said. I'm actually shocked that you were able to be a lawyer...I'm guessing you didn't do much work in court rooms did you? I mean, if a bunch of randoms on the internet can dismantle your arguments, I can't even imagine what a real lawyer would do to you.

Yes, you absolutely compared Johnson to Woodson. If you weren't indicating they had similarities in football skills, then you should not have made the comparison (or the comparison was meaningless). I find it odd that you can't even admit what you said. It must be your Montana St education.

Stop argueing just to argue. Your banter and ridiculous comments are getting old. He never once said Tru = Woodson. He said the position/role that would fit well for Tru is the position/role that Woodson plays now, CB/S Hybrid. Every rational poster understood what he meant/wrote. Why can't you? :?

Not arguing just to argue. Just trying to teach this Bobcat a few things. He compared Johnson to Woodson. Apparently, you don't even understand that the comparison was made. Woodson is one of the stud corners of all time. While I believe Johnson has considerable talent and potential, I won't be comparing Johnson to Woodson. Also, BDizzle, you may want to keep your out of this one. There's some history. Or, if you really want to reduce some of the BS on the board, you might look at keeping this particular poster off my back for little things.

For what it's worth, I also understood this as saying Tru would fit well in the role that woodson plays, not comparing Tru to Woodson nor saying Tru = Woodson.

You have no credibility on this board. By the way, all of the irrational posters understood what I was saying. Ha-ha.

Okay, for those of you who apparently don't understand what Woodson does and that he's one of the best and most versatile corners of all time, I will try to educate you. Woodson is not a "role" player. He does not play a "role". He is incredibly good and "versatile". Woodson does it all. Here's a description from the internet: "Woodson was used in a variety of ways by new defensive coordinator Dom Capers as Green Bay made the switch to a 3-4. At times, the unit was shaky -- except for Woodson, who played the role of cover cornerback, blitzer, run-stuffer and ball hawk."

Note that he plays "cover" cornerback, "blitzer", "run-stuffer" and "ball hawk". He gets alot of interceptions. He still has terrific speed. What else is there for a corner to do? PT's comparison of Johnson to Woodson, and insinuating that Woodson had a "role" or was a "role" player, was and is completely silly. Several seasons ago, he was the league defensive MVP. These were his stats: "Woodson had 63 unassisted tackles and 18 assists, according to the Packers, plus 21 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one recovery, two sacks for 18 yards, and three quarterback hits."

:coffee:

;)

For those of you who never played corner and/or don't understand the position, what Woodson does is play all aspects that a corner can play. The 4 listed "roles" are essentially what a complete and versatile corner can do. If PT or anyone else wants to say Johnson should or will be able to do certain things as a corner is fine, but to either say or insinuate that Woodson is a role player or Johnson will be able to do all the things that Woodson does, is just plain silly. Again, I think Johnson will develop into a good player in the NFL.

So you played 1-AA football and played corner in basketball? Did you go pro?

I didn't play I-AA football.

I think the perfect role for Will Cherry would be the role that Michael Jordon played in Chicago.
He could bring the ball down the court.

I thought that Jordan was a shooting guard and bring the ball down the court role was filled during his playing days by Ennis Whatley, Sedale Threat, John Paxson, BJ Armstrong and Ron Harper.

Okay, let's substitute in Magic Johnson for Jordan.

Majority of thread posters disagree with PR.

Majority of thread posters obviously have no credibility unless they agree with PR.

I love how you keep on calling me a Montana State graduate (truth) but continue to ignore that I'll also graduate from UM. You may continue to diss on my education but I'm proud of where I went to school and what I've done. After this I'm done arguing with you, it doesn't help the board and you refuse to admit when you're wrong. Keep on trying to stalk me and find out who I am though, I do find that amusing.

Play-A Rape stalks everyone. He is a psychotic sicko, and a disgrace to Griz Nation. I have had at least 3 people from Missoula tell me that he goes around town trying nto find out information about me. He found out where my daughter worked (a UM college kid), and dropped that little dittie on the board. He is truly in need of a good shrink.
