My thought on this is it is a way to avoid the hearing which is open to the public and news media. If a person violates an order of protection they face criminal charges if there is a violation of this civil agreement I guess it depends on what is written in it. Orders of protection are civil matters it is a violation that is criminal.

They settled out of court. JJ agreed in writing to stay 1500 ft away from the woman. The TRO as a court matter was dismissed when he signed the agreement. No court finding one way or another as to whether there was reasonable cause to issue a permanent injunction. Still no criminal charges filed, and the Student and Athlete Code of Conduct matters go on.

The civil agreement will likely never be filed with the court and therefore never be part of the public reord. That's a huge plus for JJ down the road. The TRO is over. There's no hearing to make it permanent, also a huge plus. JJ hasn't been charged with a crime --as the Missoulian has finally stated in the first 100 words of their story, big plus. Florio has finally managed to write an entire story about this unconfirmed allegation without using the word rape in relation to JJ. Rape isn't in the headline either. That tells me the Missoulian has had to reconsider it's coverage of this matter, probably after speaking with an attorney.
Paoli indicates this anonymous accuser didn't like JJ's legal team investigating her story. It isn't fun being deposed. TRO or no TRO, a defendant has a right to be in the room for most depositions. If your story isn't rock solid the experience really sucks.
I've said it before, but the anonymous accuser in this matter has provided minimal details to back up her story. With this agreement she will probably never have to.

Probably also worth pointing out that violating a civil agreement isn't a crime. The cops don't show up loaded for Griz when the plaintiff calls. Van de Wetering's coment is a little bizarre.

Could not agree more with Mr. honcho....also my feeling is that if the accuser has lawyered up, then she is on the defensive now and not liking it. If she filed a false report against JJ then she should most definitely be held accountable and have to face the music. False reporting runs rampant and unfortunately the media never follows through on this portion after their sensationalistic stories run dry...Donaldson has been the only one charged with a crime.....so to the poster who said there were multiple charges against Griz football players, there is a huge difference between an accusation and actual criminal charges. Considering the fact that Donaldson has been the only one charged thus far, that should speak volumes as to the high probability that a lot of these "accusations" are false. Whether a Griz or cat fan, as Mr.honcho stated it could easily be a son, daughter, etc. that is either a victim or accused. We should never wish this on anyone.

In the case of J. Johnson,it is easy to accuse but very difficult to prove. If they had been dating (had sex) and as reported (right or wrong) he had another new girl friend the accuser's case will be tossed before it is filed! The women scorned wanted to and has made Johnson' life miserable. She has won on that account.

Bad all around for both! Her name and picture will eventually come out and that is a shame and it will be tough on her around the campus and Missoula. Jordy will receive punishment and shame for his part.

Like it or not Johnson will see the football field sooner or later, my guess is this fall. I said he would "win" out but it is a dirty win.
