Trevor Poole

My 2 cents .......after I jumped all over Poole for his more than dumb act I hope he does indeed get a chance to continue on. Playing football at the U is an honor and he must realize that. He might get a chance to come back if Mick gives him the go ahead I am all for it.

Most older men with half brains understand drugs are not required and understand the last thing a man wants to do is drug up some girl to have a 15 min sex act. At his age and being a big shot on the Griz football team all he needs to do is use that "fact" to obtain sex.

Good luck to Mr. Poole

Only if you count the 14 minutes it takes to get my clothes off. :? :? :?

I think Trevor should be allowed back as long as he pays his dues and tows a straight line from here on. Question, would The Aber Day keggar be considered a rave in current terms?

A favorite quote of one of my Physics Profs, " I made a mistake once, I thought I made a mistake."
That girl you took to ADK, wasn't her name Molly Pills?

I'll pass. We will win without him. Just saying.

I'll buy - kids make mistakes, the Griz/this current staff have let kids back on that admit errors and serve the penalty given to them (Brian Maus comes to mind). Trevor has paid the price in the court of public opinion and will be also serving some sort of penalty I presume be it fine/community service/probation. I'd say as long as he doesn't screw up again - let him back on the team and make him work his way back.

So my opinion is he was given an opportunity to play college football and get his education paid for while doing it. He looked a gift horse in the mouth and chose not to play by the rules. He committed a FELONY... It was not a mistake. A mistake is writing a check for 2000 dollars and only subtracting 200 from your account and bouncing a check. I believe in if choose to commit the crime be prepared to pay the time. If he goes back on scholarship I will never contribute a penny to the U again. Sometimes life lessons are hard but it will make him stronger in the end.

Ahhh...we have our first Griz fan who's never made a mistake in his life.

So committing a felony is a mistake... In that case no I have never made a mistake in my life. I'll even give you the benefit of committing a misdemeanor is a mistake and no I don't have one of those on my record either. End of story ass hat.

If he plays again, could you also stop following the Griz and posting on egriz?

You do realize that if he complies with his deferred prosecution agreement, he will not have a felony on his record? From a legal point of view, it will be almost as if the incident and charge didn't occur.

When I was a young employee of what was then nascent electronics company, a dock worker dropped a $1M piece of equipment off the loading dock 8 feet to the pavement. He could have been fired but instead he was asked to analyze how it happened and when they were satisfied that he really understood how to keep it from appending him again they made him the person in charge of safety. His mistake turned into a teachable moment and he became the biggest advocate for doing things right. I have no idea how it turned out but at least someone believed in the concept of redemption and second chances.

Maybe from a legal point of view, but he did break the rules and it wan't just a little mistake.

I feel Poole deserves a chance to earn his way back on the team. He seems like he's probably a good kid and is willing to put the work into doing the right things from now on, but I do think he should be on the team without a scholarship this year and prove that he deserves it for the following season.

He didn't kill anyone. He didn't rape anyone. He didn't rob anyone. He didn't buy a kilo of coke with the intent to distribute. You might do well to consider the actual issue and not lump all "felonies" into one broad group. Did he make a mistake? Yes. Was it a horrible mistake? Well, not really (see: Beau Donaldson for reference). Writing the kid off because of a poor decision is extremely short sighted, IMHO. Some of my best employees are ones I've given second chances to after egregious errors on their part. They're usually VERY grateful, thankful for the opportunity, and bust their ASSES to prove their worth. Let's hope Poole responds the same way. If he doesn't then I'm on board with cutting him loose at that point....but writing him off with a zero-tolerance policy just isn't productive for anyone involved.

Questiion for you, "asshat": Have you NEVER driven with alcohol in your system? Because if you have, you HAVE committed a felony...just haven't had the pleasure of being CAUGHT. So take your self-righteous BS and stick it where the sun don't shine. People in glass houses shouldn't cast stones.

Our entire prison and legal system is built on that premise. Unless you're twincities, of course.

As I recall Mick tossed a kid (scholly) for having pot in the dorm (despite a negative pee test) I'm thinking he the "committee" may not be as forgiving of felony drug possesion. BTW playing college football is not life nor is it the main reason for attending college. Poole has a chance for both his education and life. That's sounds like good second chance, maybe he will get more......

No one was tossed for having pot in his dorm, to my knowledge.

Wasn't it Christian Liccardi?

Wasn't that mainly a failed drug test for marijuana, and thus having to sit out a year? That was prior to Mick's time. There were some posts saying he was not tossed out, but in light of the circumstances chose to leave to play basketball.

It wasn't possession of pot, my mistake, it was a bong or some such but it was under micks watch, and his sister used to post here thought he was being treated unfairly in any event heres the thread:

Oh FWIW here what the Missoulian has to say about Poole today:

http://missoulian.com/news/local/suspended-griz-player-gets-deferred-sentence-for-drug-charge/article_ecde2f5a-658e-11e2-a878-001a4bcf887a.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure what Haslam is saying with the line Poole’s felony must be “completely resolved” before he can appeal his suspension. But it sounds like nothing is a slam dunk.

Got it. We were both a bit off. I was thinking of a different incident, by the way.

Yeah and yeah. I would put five bucks on the fact Trevor Polle is playing ball next fall. Of course he needs to stay clean and I fear Mick will give him some "extra" work to make him pay......but I see him coming back to play ball as a Griz. He made an extra dumb mistake and now can clean up his name and I say that is a good thing! Good luck to him.

It was mostly because of grades and secondarily because of the paraphernalia. For what it is worth, the smoking was being done by a current player but Christian took the rap because if one of the perps didn't cop to it, Mick said he was going to kick all four kids off the team
