Trent McKinney Accolades

TM had a hell of a year for SD Mines; too bad they had no D and finished 2-9 (gave up 46 points/game!). He had 692 net rushing with 9 TDs and 2974 passing with 24 TDs. Will be back as a senior next year. Maybe he should go both ways....

Great post kemajic. It is always nice to see a former Griz doing well. Trent was caught up in a tough situation with the coaching change but has always carried himself with a lot of class. He is a great representative of the University of Montana. I wish him the best of luck in the future and know that he will be successful in whatever he undertakes in life.

TM's timing was unfortunate. He could have flourished in the Stitt offense.

I believe coming out of high school he was the number 2 rated QB in Hawaii. The #1 went to Oregon and has enjoyed a modicum of success.

Yep, darn shame that TM didn't beat out Mariota. Marcus could have been pretty good at the FCS level -- no DD mind you -- but better than average for sure...

I don't want this to come off badly (but of course it will  ), but how the hell did this kid lose his job to SSH?!

I'll concede the genius of the giraffe bootleg, but that's it!

Below average play for his ability, fan pressure for change, and importantly SSH had personal connections with Delaney. I don't dislike Delaney, but it's the truth. McKinney wasn't given enough time and everyone knows it.

This. He was a round peg trying to fit into a square holed? offense. Good kid, great athlete and wanted to contribute to the Griz any way he could. I'm glad he is doing so well.
