I don’t believe that for a second. Did you know that only 3 upperclassmen are engineering students on MSU’s football team? I thought it would be more since you are “one of the best engineering schools in the country”. And because it’s such a big tool for recruiting football players.

I think two things can be true at the same time.

- the cats absolutely took it to a team not a lot of people thought they had a chance against, and Mellot played a pretty outstanding game. That defense was on fire and absolutely bullied the team that won the chipper in the spring. They earned the right to host the semis and should be proud.

- let’s not get ahead of ourselves and act like the two sides of the bracket were equal here. I said it when it came out that I’d much rather be the 8 seed than the 6 seed. The two best teams and 4 of the top 6 were on our side. Certainly not the cats’ fault, and they took care of business, but if I were a cat fan I’d be thankful first that the Griz kicked their asses so bad it made them into real winners :lol: and second that the committee didn’t get it right and that their season didn’t end in Fargo last night.

Great job, cats! Tommy is gonna be an absolute pain in the ass. :thumb:

I agree. That ass kicking put a point on the urgent need for better qb play and better offensive coaching. So, thanks. That ass kicking made me sick, but MSU is clearly in a better place right now because of it. Winning cures everything.

pretty accurate and sometimes the best recruits are simply walk ons. I think we both will continue to do well with in-state recruiting.

Likewise with Griz players we recruited. I can’t tell if they actually think he’s bad or just want to see him not do well… He’s a super great kid and playing super well for a freshman. Honestly, nobody can say exactly how he’s going to do going forward, you can only work with what data you have, he’s 2-0 in the playoffs so no complaints here.. Innocent until proven guilty. I just think this is a weird thread.

The win over SHSU was not so much about the freshman phenom QB as it was about the game plan. It was obvious from the first cat possession that SHSU read the line on this frosh and that he wasn't a passing threat so they practice for the ground game.
When the cats came out passing SHSU was caught flatfooted and found themselves i a hole too deep to crawl out of.
SDSU will have game film to go over and make the necessary adjustments.

Yeah and that’s possible, but last week people thought MSU was going to get its teeth punched in. But ended up being a classic uno reverse. All you’re doing is speculating. So speculate away. Maybe you’re right but that’s why we play the game. Maybe Tommy has another 5 touchdowns… who knows. Point being, he’s still 2-0 right now.

I’m also not sure why SHSU being in a hole is related to Tommy’s performance. Also, MSU put them in that hole.

I would say that's what separates us from other states. We don't have millions of people in this state or national exposure for our universities so why try to behave like we do? Montana is truly the last best place because of this. We embrace our own. Draw a line between Griz and Cats. Fine, but I'll wish the best on any Montanan in either of these programs that goes on to be successful.
