I think (and I think we could actually agree) that he probably could’ve already won a national championship (most likely 2021). Honestly program hasn’t improved much with Vigen to be brutally honest.

I’d give him 3-5 years at Nevada before they are competitive.

He has done well but not comparable to what Choate did. He definitely is pushing the program in a positive direction but his lack in playoff success (although last year was different) holds him back. Also some bad losses hurt his resume (NAU specifically this year) in my opinion. The 2018 gris weren’t bad and the gris really have had talent since. Choate completely changed the recruiting, culture, and style. I think Bobby needs a natty before I’d consider him a great coach.

If Bobby is such a great coach then explain what happened at UNLV… Choate did well at Texas and I expect success at Nevada.

No I don't agree, because he didn't stick around long enough to prove it. His teams always seemed to lose some head scratcher games that they were supposed to win. His head coaching record is not great. I don't know how to make it any clearer for you.

We'll see how it goes at Nevada.

Hellen Keller could’ve coached and the cats would’ve been still successful in 21, that defense was incredible. Multiple NFL players (though most don’t play) on that team. Choate was eventually going to get one, Bobby has had multiple chances and NEVER has done it…

So I consistently give you empirical data and you just change the subject and do your what aboutism. You really need to take a class on logical debate.

By the way... Choate wasn't the head coach at UT so it's irrelevant what their record was. He was the co-defensive coordinator. Really lame argument.

Bobby got the Griz to more national championships than the cats had winning seasons under Choate.

You're making really stupid claims based on nothing but your opinion.

Choate wasn't the head coach at Texas. So, that's not a comparison. UNLV is an almost impossible place to do well. That probably wasn't the place for him to go. Again, as others have said, he took UNLV to a bowl game, which hadn't been done in many years. The current coach just had a winning season. Maybe he's the guy. No coach has had a winning record there since 1981. Since then, 8-37 19-25, 17-27, 13-44, 28-42 (John Robinson), 7-40, 21-43. Hauck's winning percentage was better than 3 of them, and the same as 1.

Are you saying John Robinson was a bad coach? 67-14-2 first time and then 37-21-2 at USC.

Hauck was offered the San Diego St head job a year or two after he got back to UM. It was a longer term 7 figure contract. He thought about it, consulted his 3 top advisors (one of whom is my relative), and decided to stay at UM. He's had NFL teams looking at him for ST jobs. Those things are all a lot more than Choate has gotten. We will see how Choate does in the future.

You are too young to have any prospective on coaching.

I’d say co defensive coordinator at a school that made playoffs is legit

I’d take Choate over Bobby any day. Bobby is a good special teams guy but not comparable to what Choate can do and did in Bozeman.
