Top 25 Returning FCS OL

Choate was a decent coach who was great at building culture, but also got extremely lucky that Bob Stitt's DC hated him enough to switch sides, and he got to face probably the weakest stretch of 3 years of Griz teams we've had in 40 years. His Griz record is literally the only reason the fanbase reveres him over Ron Ash.
No shot, Ash did nothing for the program Choate literally created everything we have now. I don’t think the gris were that bad… Sneed was incredible and the gris d was talented. I think the gris don’t want to admit they got out coached for 4 years.

When did I say we weren't out coached? I literally said your DC used to be ours and knew exactly what we would be doing. That's how 2 cat teams that were objectively less talented (2016 and 2017) than ours managed to beat us. Choate literally built his teams around beating Bob Stitt (which is one of the reasons why he lost a shit ton of games apart from the Brawl). When Bobby came in, he overhauled the team, and we had our worst OL we've had in decades. Sneed was single-handedly the reason that team didn't have a losing record. The cats in 2019 were a great team that beat a really good Griz team, but the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Griz teams were, by our standards, pretty terrible.

As for Ash, you can't lose 3 straight brawls and keep your job. If Vigen loses this year, and you guys go one and done in the playoffs again, his seat will get pretty damn hot.

Yeah I do agree to most of that. 2019 teams were both good but cats missed troy in 19 and the gris were very good that year. Tbh gris coaches should’ve changed stuff with Gregorack as the cats DC. Vigen needs a win in Missoula to gain respect.

All the history has been written now, but one has to wonder if Choach had the same win percentage, but swapped a win against a different BSC team instead of UM each year, if he would've made it as long as he did and be so worshipped in Bozo. I think he’d be viewed as just another in a long line of their not so great coaches.

But winning the brawl is the most important regular season game especially as a new coach. But you have to agree that he made a massive difference, 2019 and on the cats are actually good.

Consider though: I know bub fans who believed msu should have erected a statue of Coach Ron Ash. Coaching .500 ball (and perhaps authoring a book by a similar title) earns you such respect in bozoville.

But ohhhh those pleats would have looked good forever memorialized in pewter.

Monymony has no knowledge of history and must be young. It’s fun to see him getting schooled consistently.

My guess is that the Cats peaked prior to last year and probably won’t be any better this year than they were last year. I can’t see them winning enough big games without being able to overuse Mellott, and Chambers won’t be around to take over if Mellott is injured. We will see how good the new O-line is and how strong the D is. If those 2 are A- or better and Mellott doesn’t get injured, then I will have to reassess.

According the detailed thread concurrently started by Mr Hoops, the only “culture” choach installed was to bail on the program as soon as possible. All the best players are following his lead

It was clear Choate always wanted to be an FBS HC. As for the transfers, when you can get great NIL money you would be stupid to not go. Bergen only stuck around because every gris fan in America would do anything to keep him around and he is a Montanan that understands Montana ball. Actually if Choate stuck around Bergen would be wearing blue and gold 😂

Wow, then Choach REALLY fucked that program over.

"If you get NIL money, you would be stupid not to go." So are you saying Bergen is stupid? Or are you saying that MSU recruited kids who don't understand Montana football and Montanans wouldn't care about, so they should go but Bergen is right to stay? What is even your point here?

You're trying so hard to "be right" that you are not following logical lines of conversation.

And what about Kade Cutler? He didn't leave for money.

Bergen got good NIL money, I explained that. I know Cutler’s family and heard there were other things going on that he didn’t like and he wanted to be closer to home.

No you didn't. What NIL money does he get? Be specific. You can't just throw out more lies.

And yes, there were other things going on that Kade didn't like. Such as the MSU program and culture.
