IMO, the Bobcats are lookin' pretty good!

I'm betting we could assemble a team from the guys at the tailgate that could look pretty good against Monmouth....they are awful. I'll be amazed if the don't end up losing by 40.

They are not that bad, they are FCS and had a better than .500 record last year. They are div I athletes give them some respect. Is it that hard for you to say that the cats are lookin' good tonight?

Yeah it is. If you like em so much haul your ass over to catshit nation and hang with the kittys!

Fact is we are young along both the offensive line and defensive line (it really shows on the defensive line). Losing our starting DE and MLB to injury really has hurt this defense. Got the skill guys, but a lot of work ahead for the men in the trenches.

This game will offer a ton of things that Coaches can harp on..

The linebackers have looked good and there is speed on the defense. You are correct. The D line could be a concern. Time will tell and a big O line could present problems. Going to be interesting to watch.

So... where's that awesome MSU depth that BigSky33 has been raving about? :coffee:
The depth are all starters silly, don't you know how to understand kitty logic yet? :D

Unpopular I know, but I thought the Cats first unit's looked really good. Though I didn't expect not to as they are good and they were playing a bad team. Yes, Monmouth was respectable last season, but if you looked into them, they are not the same team. They lost a large group of good players on both sides of the ball. I wasn't basing what I saw on their opponent, I just saw the Cats' looked like they have upgraded their speed and their offense with a new OC is much more up-tempo and creative, which helps DM alot. Shawn Johnson is the real No. 1 RB in that offense. Period. And I think the Cats are better without Everett Gilbert than they ever were with him. Defensively, a lot of speed for MSU but I think they lack some size and experience. I think that unit will get exposed some against better teams. Overall though, I don't care who they played, the Cats are right there this season based on what I saw.

What stuck out to me was the run-d looks like the weakest link. It'll be interesting to see what SMU does with it.

I agree hav but this Monmouth team was way over matched. There is very little team speed and I felt they really lacked in all areas(especially tackling) fundamentally. Next week against SMU will be a better gauge. Surely not what I saw tonight.
