I will put Joslyn aside on this one. I know Tinks well, and he nor Robin would never use Jos as a pawn in this one. I honestly feel the boosters are 50/50 regarding renewing his contract. Personally everyone loves Tinks and his family. Professionally he is learning, and the GRIZ living up to high expectations and faring well in postseason will determine much this year. If the GRIZ are playing well early this year, the extension could come by Christmas. If they are struggling and still looking for an identity, it may be put off until the season is over.
With that said, I feel the University is making a huge mistake waiting on a decision. Waiting makes for a huge recruiting disadvantage for any program. Myself, due to Tinks and his family being upstanding people, his ability to recruit, and run a clean program, I would renew his contract for 3 more years with a steep buy out. If this talent plays to their potential Tinks may have a few opportunities. If not, Tinks may never have another hc job at this level.
I feel Tinks is getting better every year, and nobody can deny his passion and sincerity for the University of Montana. I feel he would be here for quite a long time, which is huge for this University. I support Tinks 100%. What is the link to email O'day regarding support for Tinks?
