Tickets for EWU vs. (Montana)

-By contrast, if EWU beat the Griz next week and lost the next, EWU fans would still be jacked about the season because they won the Big Sky.

Hope this helps.

This isn't true no matter how much you want it to be. Long gone are the years where simply beating the Griz or winning the Sky made a season.

It's funny how hard you try to discredit our accomplishments, and yet, after the first game you still didn't shut yer yap. I guess no one ever taught you what humility means. Unfortunate.

Anyway, should be a good game next weekend. Safe travels to folks making the trip over.

I've heard a lot of "BSC Champs" "Back to Back BSC Champs" and "Back to Back to Back BSC Champs" from EWU fans over the last three years. EWU fans seem pretty pleased with winning the Big Sky and shitting the bed in the playoffs.

Even you list "BSC Championships" and "playoff appearances" in your signature. A significant stat for UM would be years in which they didn't win the BSC and/or make the playoffs. That's the difference. EWU has a LOT of years to make up. Good luck on Saturday.

Couple quick points:

1) I don't call winning the national championship and losing close games in the semi's shifting the bed. Ewu is good. Period.

2) ewu earned the right to host so we should shut up.

3) it does matter what ESPN thinks. They chose ewu to host first game this season and us next. It is a sign of respect for both our programs.

4) this game was destined for ESPN3 no matter what. East coast bias.

5) we beat the cats so bad they were hungover today.

So any actually information as to whether Griz Tix will be getting any tickets to sell? I would think that UM would get several hundred tickets at least. If that is the case WHEN will they go on sale?

In order:

1) NC was in 2010. They have been pretty happy with the results since, and the pride is often derivative of winning the BSC. Griz fans have wanted to fire a coach for getting to three chippers without winning. Not saying it's right, just different expectations.

2) Nobody said they didn't, so this point is an absolute non-starter.

3) It absolutely matters. Trying to educate the douchey-come-latelies.

4) I don't disagree. Online or not, ESPN would obviously rather have the built-in production value of a game in Missoula. That was the point. ESPN3 doesn't mean they don't care. It's an increasingly viable medium. I often do a multiscreen on games that are otherwise on regular network.

5) 100%.

(You're kind of getting obvious; PM me for some pointers if you want)

Fair comments. Though I'm not sure where running off the coach that got us to the chipper had worked out all that well for us!

Agreed. Not at all. Just commenting on sustained program success as a factor of fan satisfaction. The former is much different between EWU and UM, thus, so is the latter. In a sentence: A BSC Championship is a much bigger deal in Cheney than in Missoula.

And a precursor to success. Maybe if it were a bigger deal here in Missoula we would be better than we have these last several years. Tropheys matter and build upon each other.

UM doesn't aspire to BSC Championships. BSC Championships are a bi-product. Hasn't panned out lately. In ten years, it will be interesting to see if the past few years were a hiccup, or a changing of the guard, because we heard about the changing of the guard ten years ago. That didn't really happen.

Montana coming to town. The only time EWU can outsell Daylis

We had as many folks at the ISU game as we did the Montana game this year and have sold out every game the past couple of seasons.
My bad.. 10000 is really impressive. Eags is #A :)

I thought the NCAA set terms for tickets. If the announcer can't even coax a cheer from the crowd, how does a school funnel extra tickets to season ticket holders.

NCAA requires that the host school allows the visiting school to sell a minimum of 500 tickets.
The Eagles will not be bringing in extra seating for this game. The NCAA gets the ticket revenue so what would be the point in adding extra expense?

You would think that, recognizing the extra revenue potential this game has, the NCAA would bring in the bleachers. But since when has the NCAA ever done anything logical?

When will these go on sale? I hope they are made available to the general public and not just locked up for "insiders."

Yep. None of those additional people would spend a dime on concessions, merchandise, consume anything in the community before or after the game, or make the atmosphere in Cheney look less pathetic on the telecast. And carting out some additional H.S. bleachers to add to the existing ones is super spendy!

Rule #9 in becoming a relevant program: Play the Long Game.

Thanks!

Hope you are right and some of us regular Joe/Jane fans get a crack at tickets.

Thanks!

It was over 11k for those games, which isn't really impressive in the grand scheme of things...but the point is, you can't sell more tickets than you have seats. We've been well over official capacity for some time now during the regular season. Playoffs are a different story. Those games aren't as well attended when classes aren't in session.

Interesting. Then I expect EWU will be making those unfilled seats available for all comers? EWU wouldn't ever play any shady games with ticketing, like shielding unsold tickets from UM fans, when playing UM in Cheney, right?

No idea and not sure what you mean. When have there ever been unsold tickets for a game in Cheney?
