Three good games in a row by UM defense

I have a feeling, a certain poster is about to be have something in common with Cookus, an ejection.

You wanna address why our fan base is eroding, or are you gonna ignore it like you do things like Stitt's leadership ability?

Out of respect to EGRIZ, I am not going to take your bait. Many others take that bait and it turns into a shit storm. Besides, it really does not matter what I think ,say, or post, you never change. You are here with your own agenda. Anyone not agreeing with you will just be part of a never ending exchange and yet another derailing.

Wrong, the difference in me and you is that I state facts, and you state opinions. I ask you to respond to facts and you run and hide.

Oh, another baby step fan. You know what baby steps for a football team gets you? Five more years of mediocrity and a free DVD of "What About Bob"!

Beating the no. 9 ranked FCS playoff team and only undefeated team in the conference, with our 4th string QB, is hardly a "baby step". It's huge win and step.

Why can't people like you root for the Griz? What's wrong with supporting the team? Are you really wanting to be right on Stitt so much, that you can't support the team and be objective on the team's play and good wins.

You broke that down so eloquently, damn lawyers!

Just got back from having Sunday brunch at Paradise Falls with 5 other Griz fans, one of whom played football for the Griz. We all agreed about Sitt and the need for a coaching change. I find solace in knowing that the constant sugar coating of so many posters on this site represent only a minority of Griz Nation. What is it about the empty seats that you don't get??? What is it about the pre-game lack of energy in the tailgating area that you don't get??? We all talked about it yesterday because it just not the same game-day atmosphere as it used to be. Oh, I forgot, it was miserable 33 degrees and a threat of snow flurries. Is that excuse #78 or #79?

Oh Steve Dill / Growler it really doesn’t take long for you to reveal yourself haha

I just got done having breakfast (my friends do breakfast not brunch) with 6 Griz fans, 2 of whom are ex players, both of whom were better than your 1 ex player friend.

They all agreed that the win over NAU was a terrific win, and showed the fight of the team. They all agreed that the game plan was good and was adapted well over the game. They loved all the great individual efforts. While they may or may like Stitt, they are very happy for the team and believe a win over the Cats and a playoff berth may well be in reach.

What a crock! Did they also agree with my buddies that the Griz lose by 30 if Cookus plays? Would you still be telling us about the "terrific win", or just finding some vague silver lining about how well the defense played during the last two minutes of the loss?

I’ve also heard from 7 former players, mostly through texts, that while it was an ugly win they loved the fight and thought it was an awesome job that this staff deigned a plan like this and the players really stepped up in the face of adversity.

They all agreed with me that UM would have won even had Cookus not been ejected. He wouldn't have done well with all the heat and adversity. His mental toughness appears to be on par with you. Very thin and pedestrian.

We would’ve lost, I put that in my post game summary. The Griz barely won with NAU playing a true frosh QB against our slot WR/QB.

Now if it were Gresch vs Cookus... the way that defense was playing... Griz win it

Well, if we're going to include texts, I've heard from 8 former players, and they all agreed with you and me.

OMG, I know you have terminal dementia now! So, you are telling us that Cookus could not have put up more than 15 points in that game??? God, you can't make this sh*t up! Ha Ha Ha

I am saying the Griz would have had a different offensive game plan, taken more risks, passed more, and scored more points. And, as NAU scored more, JLM would have more long KO returns and scored more TD's. The crowd would have gotten even louder, and caused more penalties. Cookus would have thrown some picks. Some might have been pick sixes. Whatever amount NAU scored, UM would have had one more.

Edit: Simis grew more comfortable passing as the game went on. 1 reception in the first half, for -5 yards. 5 for 9/10 in second half. With a more aggressive game strategy if it had been needed, Simis would have passed more and gained confidence as the game went on, in my view. More passes would have helped open up the run game, for him and the running backs, as NAU would not have been able to load the box on most plays.

Please save your "how good the defense was playing BS". for God's sake, do you think that just MAYBE they looked good because of the inexperience of a true frosh QB taking his first snaps? Cookus led NAU right down the field his first series, and was doing it AGAIN in the series where the targeting occurred. Do you have even an OUNCE of objectivity in you, or is your agenda so entrenched that you act like the biggest homer in Griz Nation?

Cookus didn’t lead nau to any points.

There are several hundred Griz fans reading this site right now, and I know MANY of them agree with me about Stitt, as well about what would have happened yesterday if Cookus had stayed the whole game. But, anyone who tries to bring objectivity to this board is shouted down by 8-10 of the same clueless hacks. Their strategy is to bombard that poster with insults, "you never played the game" accusations, calling you a bad fan or hater, and coating gloss on a turd by telling you that it tastes good.

When they fail at this, they start the "ban this poster" B.S., because being butt-hurt by objective logic is not within their game plan. Just understand that they are really very few in numbers, have an agenda to suck-up to coaches, and do not represent main-stream of Griz Nation.

Just go anywhere in Missoula where Griz fans are found and ask them about the direction of this program under Stitt, and you will gain the true perspective of our vanishing fan base and discontent with this program. I honestly don't know a single fan who thinks we are on the right track with Bob Stitt leading us. Oh, you'll find some on here, but consider the source.
