Three good games in a row by UM defense

Great thread PR. Conner had one of the best games of his career(don’t care about the actual stats).
With the return of Strong things could be better this week. Northern Colorado’s offense looks inconsistent.
Sims is a beast and plays alot of snaps. Front seven is one of the best.
Don’t like breakdowns in containment, but there has been progress.
Fairly healthy for this late in the year. Young guys are getting snaps and are getting better.
Epperly has progressed better than expected and good for him.
I’m still laughing about Cookus. Ha ha, crybaby.
Kem might even give props for the quality win.

I think a quality win is a stretch. Watching that game was painful, for the poor level of play on both sides. That game demonstrated all-too-well the lack of depth by most teams at the QB position in the FCS. You do realize, if you are honest, that we won that game because of our special teams (for once!), and not much else. NAU missed a chip-shot FG, had an extra point blocked, and JLM ran a punt back for a TD. That is a 10-point swing, and we win by 2. JLM has won two games for us in his short career with punt returns.... yesterday, and against Northern Iowa. Yes, I totally get-it that all of these things are part of the game. But any Griz fan should admit that the stars were aligned yesterday for the win. Has there ever been a college QB, at any level, removed from the game for targeting? Don't know, but would bet lots of money on the fact that this was a first. In my opinion, if Cookus plays the entire game, we lose by 30 and the fire-Stitt chants would replace all of the optimism.

The question all of you should answer for yourselves is whether we can make the playoffs, and whether we can defeat a playoff team. To me, that is the measuring stick. Ugly wins aside, this team is not even close to competing with the top teams in FCS.

Show me a level of football where the starting qb goes down and it’s business as usual, it’s sure as hell isnt th NFL!

What happened to the team needs to show improvement complaint? Now it’s make the playoffs and win a game. If that happens I have no doubt it will be win the chipper or you still suck.

Oh, another baby step fan. You know what baby steps for a football team gets you? Five more years of mediocrity and a free DVD of "What About Bob"!

Beating the no. 9 ranked FCS playoff team and only undefeated team in the conference, with our 4th string QB, is hardly a "baby step". It's huge win and step.

Why can't people like you root for the Griz? What's wrong with supporting the team? Are you really wanting to be right on Stitt so much, that you can't support the team and be objective on the team's play and good wins.

I support the players to the max, and feel sorry for them at the same time. They have had very little coaching the past 3 seasons, and had to endure two seasons of team division because their head coach had no ability to bring the team together. I hated the way he treated Gregorak, which you of all people should understand.

Stop making excuses for this team. Trying to put lip gloss on the turd laid in Ogden last week by focusing on one half of defense in a game in which our opponent scored 41 points is ridiculous. Turnovers are part of the game. Penalties are part of the game. All-American QBs who get kicked out for targeting are part of the game, as you and others have reminded us all. But tryingto spin it to say that our defense played well in the Weber game, and using total yards as your barometer, is ridiculous.

You spin it again trying to say that our win versus NAU was a great win. Then tell me how our QB, who was a senior and who had started several games at QB in his career, including tying an all-time record for single-game TD passes, was only able to lead us to 10 points of offense, while NAU's true frosh QB, who had never taken a snap in a regular season game, and who was playing in high school at this time last year, and who looked like a deer in the headlights in his first two series, playing in the most intimidating venue he will probably ever play in, was able to lead his team to two TDs? Which QB would YOU have rather had in the game? Get ready for the...... Simis was rusty because he had not played QB in a long while. The excuses are predictable before you even go there.

The difference between Griz fans who are able to look at Stitt's entire body of work, instead of living week-to-week finding small victories to opacify the obvious, is the reason why the team is losing it's fan base. Keep supporting this coach who has no ability to teach, nor lead these great young athletes, and continue to watch the empty seats grow every year. Open your eyes and your brain for once! Rolling out the old "you never played the game" B.S., then trying to put gloss on this turd just shows how the game passed you by many years ago.

Nope. You are either too blind, biased or unknowledgeable about football, to recognize that UM got a terrific win yesterday, and that the D has played well in the past 3 games. No spin at all from me. Just objective views based on knowledge of the game and of defense--and some talking to coaches and players.

I have said nothing about Stitt since yesterday's game. I base my views and comments on how the team played.

You just can't stand Stitt so much, and want to be proven right so much, that you can't be objective. I also think you must not understand football either, if you can't see and admit that yesterday was a huge win and the defense played very well and has been playing well for the last several games.

Just got back from having Sunday brunch at Paradise Falls with 5 other Griz fans, one of whom played football for the Griz. We all agreed about Sitt and the need for a coaching change. I find solace in knowing that the constant sugar coating of so many posters on this site represent only a minority of Griz Nation. What is it about the empty seats that you don't get??? What is it about the pre-game lack of energy in the tailgating area that you don't get??? We all talked about it yesterday because it just not the same game-day atmosphere as it used to be. Oh, I forgot, it was miserable 33 degrees and a threat of snow flurries. Is that excuse #78 or #79?

While your average posts always provide lots of laughs and head-shaking, talking to coaches and players as the basis for your "evaluation" is enough laughs for the next week in advance. Your football playing days 50 years ago mean nothing to the ability to evaluate anything. Let's dig up Red Grange and ask him how to defend the spread option. About as much credibility as some old has-been turn-coat Cat fan like you.

that's the standard mantra on here when a poster tries to be objective about our team. When you have no answers to logic, and the opinions of other season ticket holders and former players who would never waste their time posting on this site...... ejection can restore your sense of importance.

I just got done having breakfast (my friends do breakfast not brunch) with 6 Griz fans, 2 of whom are ex players, both of whom were better than your 1 ex player friend.

They all agreed that the win over NAU was a terrific win, and showed the fight of the team. They all agreed that the game plan was good and was adapted well over the game. They loved all the great individual efforts. While they may or may like Stitt, they are very happy for the team and believe a win over the Cats and a playoff berth may well be in reach.

Fan base has softened, but yesterday's almost 21,000 were loud, and attendance was impacted by the bad roads and weather. For example, we live in Missoula, but my wife opted to watch on tv.

Yesterday's terrific win should attract more attention for next week's game. I am so confident of a win next week, that I'm opting to go to Dartmouth v. Brown in Fenway Park.

Obvious in your case that leather helmets provided little protection from multiple concussions and latent dementia

And your club baseball experience 51 years ago, is even less than my qualifications and experience.

Obvious in your case that leather helmets provided little protection from multiple concussions and latent dementia

I doubt that you were at the game yesterday, but even if you were, I assume you were following NAU and rooting for them. You clearly don't root for the Griz.

I have a feeling, a certain poster is about to be have something in common with Cookus, an ejection.

You wanna address why our fan base is eroding, or are you gonna ignore it like you do things like Stitt's leadership ability?

Fan base has softened, but yesterday's almost 21,000 were loud, and attendance was impacted by the bad roads and weather. For example, we live in Missoula, but my wife opted to watch on tv.

Yesterday's terrific win should attract more attention for next week's game. I am so confident of a win next week, that I'm opting to go to Dartmouth v. Brown in Fenway Park.

Out of respect to EGRIZ, I am not going to take your bait. Many others take that bait and it turns into a shit storm. Besides, it really does not matter what I think ,say, or post, you never change. You are here with your own agenda. Anyone not agreeing with you will just be part of a never ending exchange and yet another derailing.

Yep, a life-long Griz fan. But, tell us the reason and year you became a Cat turn-coat?
