....Meh.....

You all can rationalize it all you want but kids want in to championship programs. UM isn't there (yet) and there are indications that it is going the wrong way. These young men, and there parents, are not stupid and they are going to go to where the winds are blowing more favorably ... EWU, NA, NDSU, UND ............ etc. One year's class will not make a huge difference but if there are no playoffs and another mediocre record next year that will equate to two in a row will have impact on the future. We need to lure 3 star players into the program and we won't be able to do that without having a first class program. Sorry, I know this will piss the posters with rose colors glasses off but give me a break and wait until to see what we get next year if we don't get to the playoffs. Recruits look for success and that isn't going to change just because some of you want it to. On the positive side there are some good prospects here, especially Favoroso.

With graduation and attrition, in the last two years we've lost 50-60 kids who played under 3 different coaches. After this year's class is signed, we will have 60 or more kids who were recruited by, believe in, and are all dying to play football for, Bob Stitt. I don't see future teams quitting on the season or the coaches like the end of last year. If it happens again next year, we will all know who to blame.
Look, neither Gus nor Chad fully got how to run Stitt's offense. Does he do something different with them and leave the other skill players to play out of the system, or does he stick with the system so the other skill players can improve in the offense and be ready next year for, hopefully, a better QB in the system? Now that the D players know the base defenses, more time in zone coverage can be worked on in spring and fall camps. Stitt and Seymore are smart guys, and I'm anxious to see if they put what they learned into improvements on both sides of the ball.

I wouldn't hold my breath.
It's the system. It's flawed, it will never be consistently successful, and I seriously doubt Bobs Titt will ever scrap is and redesign it because it defines him. I've told you guys this many many times.

I will take the U of M long term every day of the week. The facilities are phenomenal and their is a Big upside with a new president and leadership coming in.

Copper - I really have no problem with your post except for the above. Nobody really knows what a new president and new leadership will mean for athletics. While many of us, at least when we are rational and not celebrating or bemoaning a Griz victory or defeat, believe that athletics is secondary to restoring UM to being a premier university, it is always hard to let go of the football legacy. We can all hope but as Michelle Obama put it some of us feel as follows: "We are feeling what not having hope feels like". I apologize about the political reference, and possibly that isn't as relevant as you would like it but at this point there is absolutely no guarantee that a new president will prove to be be more or less supportive than the last. We all hope............ Sometimes it just doesn't work out the way we hope.
First and foremost, there better be some marketing and branding
