This Season Isnt Going To Turn Out Well For......

Finally old Alpha got going and produced the best post during the 2013 season. Damn fine to see him perform and get the msu'ers in such a tizzy!

For what it's worth most tend to think along with Alpha concerning msu"s feeble attempt at football this coming season!

If old Growler would come back from the dead we could have some good (blood and guts)
fights like we had in the good old days.

The Cats are not the #2 team in the nation. They are not the #2 team in the BSC. They will fail to win the conference, they will fail to make the playoffs and they will fail to have a .500 record. They will finish in about 8th or 9th place in the BSC. It’s going to be a looong season for Cats fans.

Opponent: Monmouth. Result: Win. Record: 1-0, 0-0. Comment: Cats pull away in second half to win their home opener but questions arise about the defense.

@SMU. Loss. 1-1, 0-0. Cats go on the road for a money game against a BCS team in the Texas heat after bailing on NDSU. It doesn’t end well for them. Was the money worth it?

Colorado Mesa. Win. 2-1, 0-0. Cats win easily as expected. It will prove to be the high point of their season.

@Stephen F. Austin. Loss. 2-2, 0-0. Two Texas road games in the heat in 3 weeks take their toll on the Cats. SFA is better than expected. The Cats ‘Texas connection’ recruiting approach takes a major hit. Cats stagger into conference play.

@North Dakota. Loss. 2-3, 0-1. Cats lose 3rd road game in a row, open conference play with a startling loss. Reality starts to set in that Cats aren’t that good. Cat fans start looking for explanations.

Northern Arizona. Loss. 2-4, 0-2. Cats stunned in front of Homecoming crowd. NAU runs all over Cats ‘D’. Cats are now in big trouble, can’t afford another loss. Cats’ fans are apoplectic and panic starts to set in.

Bye. 2-4, 0-2. Cats get much-needed week off. Halfway thru the season, Cats have only 1 D1 win. They must run the table to have a chance to make the playoffs.

@Weber State. Win. 3-4, 1-2. After bye week, Cats show sense of urgency and get first conference and road win to end 3 game skid.

UC Davis. Win. 4-4, 2-2. Cats get back to .500 with home win in front of noticeably less than capacity home crowd. Where are the fans? Cats are still living on the edge with two tough road games ahead.

@Northern Colorado. Loss. 4-5, 2-3. Solid Bears team beats Cats, effectively ending the Cats’ season. Questions abound amid few answers. Cats’ fans are in shock, angry they fell for the hype.

@Eastern Washington. Loss. 4-6, 2-4. Cats get blown out in ugly loss. The finger pointing begins and the excuses are everywhere.

Southern Utah. Win. 5-6, 3-4. Cats manage to get a win in a half-empty home stadium. Many second and third team players see action in preparation for next year. A .500 season is now the goal.

Montana*. Loss. 5-7, 3-5. Griz win convincingly in Bozeman to end Cats nightmare season. “What happened?” is the never ending question for the 2013 Cats and their fans.

Summary: The Cats are overrated from the beginning. Their weaknesses in the interior of their defense are exposed week after week and their offense cannot score enough to hide those problems – repeated turnover at OC catches up to them. Things snowball during the 3 game losing streak the first half of the season and the Cats never recover. The McGhee era ends with a whimper. The “D” coordinator takes the fall for the failed season as the Cats try to pick up the pieces of a shattered dream.

*The Griz will be 9-3, 6-2, share the BSC title and will go as far in the playoffs as the defense takes them, probably to the quarterfinals, maybe the semis. It’s a good bounce-back year for the Griz and Delaney retires on a high note after returning the Griz to national prominence. The ramifications of the NCAA sanctions kick in, APR becomes an area of off-season attention and the future remains cloudy as a result.

If you don’t agree with this, you should be ‘band’ because you clearly never played the game.

This place is unglued lately! I already have way too many threads bookmarked and yet the awesome posting continues!

 I suspect you're right Ursa. It's shaping up to be a long, disappointing year for the cats.

I see 4 losses minimum and then the Griz will roll right through them in our home away from home, WGS east.

I'm really hopin they lose 5 and keep them on the couch for the playoffs.

That would be nice.

But I'd like to see them lose 4 reg season games, squeek into the playoffs (because of their RIDICULOUSLY HIGH pre-season rank), and get dominated in their first playoff game. We all (entire nation) know how the m cats suck in the playoffs. Playoffs?!?!?! Did you say Playoffs?!?!?! ala NFL coach.

I can't wait for the beating the Griz are going to give them in bozo this year :!:

The best part is they KNOW, deep down inside they are going to get rolled if JJ plays in the brawl. They have to act tough and save some face but there isn't one of them that truly believes they can beat us with "White Jesus".

Delirious? I dont live in Bozeman

They are drinking a lot of KOOL AID in bozo!!! They are giving themselves diabetes.

Strangely I have noticed a pattern this year from Cant fans - silence. No excitement, bravado or even confidence. Even the posters on egriz talk smack about the Griz, but they never post anything about how well the cants will do this year. Strangest damn thing I have ever seen. Seriously - WTF boobs? YOU won the BSC and went to the playoffs and you got nothing for us as far as predictions and confidence in your team. Step it up and if you need me to I can send one giant blue pill to bozo. Maybe you will get your confidence back then? Until then I will just look for more cheesy hats and cats strolling through this great state - of course they won't say anything about this year - just 1984!!

One big clarification, they didn't win the BSC by themselves, it was a three-way tie.

They aren't the king shiiit they think they are.

Already have it. No Kool aid for me. Ice tea will do just fine.

kinda sad and pathetic that anyone would get worked up over a college football game.

Well that is because you have obviously not played the game.
your right, i've never played college football. i love to watch college football. it's sad and pathetic that anyone would get negatively worked up over a college football game. if someone is pissed after a game and can't let it go, it's time to find another hobby.

Thank you Ann Landers

Well, that might be true, but I sure miss days when we had a real rival at UM. Mont State just is simply not Idaho, no matter how much they try.

The Griz have a very talented team. It will go as far as the coaching staff can take them. That's the part I would be worried about as a Griz fan. Talent wise, this should be the Griz's year. You lose a lot of very good players after this year. Your going to have a drop off in talent after this year and with the four schollies lost it is going to really hurt your depth. So, the coaches and players need to get it doen this year!

Are you on meth?

After 2013, on Offense the Griz lose 3 starting OL (we have great depth/back-ups..this is "O-Lineman U" after all), WR Cam Warren and TE Clay Pierson (both career back-ups to this point)--and THAT'S IT!

On Defense, they lose 6 starters...DT Alex Bienemann, LB'ers Jordan Tripp, Brock Coyle, Jon Kanongata'a, CB Anthony Goodwin and SS Bo Tulley. Also back-ups Safety Steven Rominger and CB Sean Murray.

On Special Teams, they lose NOBOBDY.

Other than losing our talented LB'ers and a few good OL (the Griz reload), the Griz are very poised for a National Championship run in 2014 AS WELL :!:
