This season is...

I have never claimed to be a college football expert. I never played the game in college. At best I was a crappy DE for 1st Tanks when I was in the Marine Corps.

I watch the games, read the stats read the pundits, listen to podcasts, and only the very most die hard of die hard fans believe the Griz are going to win this game. Everyone else has a little doubt. A lot of people are hoping, some are praying to the football gods, and I am willing to make a burnt offering of Brats and wings to the football gods for a win, I just really don't expect it to happen.

That being said, IF the Griz beat the Puds, I am going to be ecstatic and like I said before, EVERYONE is more than welcome to troll me and point out what an idiot I was for the next year.

Back to the post:

117th out of 125. Interceptions aside, please explain how that can ever be good? I can concede regarding the rushing yards allowed. 36th in the nation isn't terrible. it's not elite, but it's not terrible. 117th is terrible.

Offensively, the Puds are not going to be able to stop Montana from scoring. There are just too many weapons, and that the most balanced I have ever seen, to include the Championship teams.

Bohannon, Davis, Wortham, Shafer, Deck, Gale Gillman, Fonoti, Rocker are all weapons man. They aren't just good, they are elite.

I am admittedly subjective when it comes to KAY. He makes really bad decisions sometimes. He forces balls when he doesn't need to, he goes deep when he can pick up a first on a crossing route, and I am surprised he started tucking the ball, because he is a really good runner when he decides to run, it makes me cringe because we haven't really seen Jensen all season and if anything happened to KAY, who knows.

I know this game, this year, is probably one of the most important for the Grizzlies in years. If they can hold on to #2, and get seeded #2, it's going to be tough for anyone to beat them at Wa-Griz, UNLESS the committee decides to put UM and the Puds on the same side of the bracket. It's hard to beat a team twice, so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea, idk.

Not here to argue the content of your post. Respect your thoughts. I am more confident in the Griz than many. I do think they will win and the home field advantage is huge. Lamson hasn’t played in a hostile environment all year. He gets rattled with pressure. Now, my question. You make a good point about Ah Yat if he gets injured. What about Lamson? Have the Cats even given a snap to a backup? I pray no kid gets hurt by the way. Actually hope all players remain healthy for both teams.

Comparatively speaking, Stitt's winning percentage against the Puds is better than Hauck's. Stitt's was 33% and Hauck's is 25%. If they lose on Saturday it will fall to 22%. I know people in Montana think the Griz/Cat game is the be-all end all and nothing else should matter but beating the Cats. I could care less if the Griz beat the Cats. Rivalries are stupid.

I DO care about this game, because that #2 seed is crucial for the Grizzlies success in the post season and seeding, and I DO care about that. If MSU loses, I doubt the pollsters and Playoff committee will move them very much. Maybe to five or six, maybe. probably just to #4. If the Grizzlies lose, you can bet they are going to say "this just proves what we believed all season" and will drop the Griz to #8/9/10, especially since MSU's AD is sitting on the committee. He shouldn't have a final vote anyway.
Thought we were talking about defense, not winning percentage against the bubs.

OOOOOO-K!

hauck brothers will have a totally different looking team coming into the brawl...they
are playing the end game...it will all start with the brawl...hopefully all systems will be
up and running..look for the playbook to come alive!
Do you think they might have been holding a few plays up their sleeve for Saturday?

OOOOOO-K!

So you hope players get hurt? Wow, you have some issues man. I would get offended by your post if you are insinuating that I am hoping players get hurt. I won’t be though, because if that is the point of your post - you are an idiot.

My main concern with your post is the EWU QB. He was thrown into the fire and, even when the Eagles totally abandoned the run, he kept moving the ball. I think Lamson has seen enough in his time he could possibly do the same. If he stays upright....

Offensively, the Griz have great balance!
Defensively, the Griz have coverage issues but play hard!
Special teams, not Hauck’s best.

Result - 10-0.

It doesn’t matter how you get there. We’re winning!

Did anyone else watch NDSU vs North Dakota last week? Even though both offenses looked subpar, Bizon got the dub.

Every team is beatable this year. So why not us taking it home?!?!?

The Griz are battle tested. The Cats are not. NDSU always is.

Before we crown a champ, let’s watch it all play out. I like our chances.

Great Post bud!!!!
On offense, take what they give you. On defense, take what they give you. Clear minds every play like this play is the game deciding play. May those moments be plentiful and the Griz win.

That post went a lot of directions. I wasn't claiming that I believe we will beat the Cats. I have no idea and I've learned to never predict this game.

To the specific point I was replying to, you saying the defense is garbage, I have had that conversation ad nauseum on here and just pointed it out to you again. We are NOT 117th out of 125 on defense. That is just passing yards, nothing more and nothing less. The Griz have been playing a LOT of prevent defense and soft zone this year. The team got burned on deep routes early in the season, and corrected the scheme to make sure that didn't happen. It seems obvious to me that the decision was made to keep the passing yards in front of the defense rather than letting people loose on the back side, make the tackle, and tighten up in the red zone.

That strategy is WORKING. The team is undefeated. They are just barely outside the top-25 in the nation in points allowed. Second in the conference in points allowed. Points are what matter, not empty yards.
Interceptions turning into points for our offense also affects the outcome of the game MUCH more than empty passing yards. I know this isn't just you, but plenty of people are cherry picking one stat to claim a defense sucks when, objectively, they are getting the job done. It hasn't been pretty, but it has been effective.

Another important stat that is being ignored is that we are second in the conference in rush defense. That is also part of why teams are passing so hard against us, because they cannot run the ball effectively. The Griz are a total of 20 yards per game outside of being in the top 15 in that stat, too.

This is why statistics are not how you judge a football team. They can be used to spin many different narratives. I have no idea what will come on Saturday. The Cats have a really good football team this year, on both sides of the ball. So do the Griz, though, and giving up some passing yards doesn't change that.
If I didn't say passing yards allowed, that's what I meant. I was all over the place. Man, I lose my mind when it comes to this game. I always have and always will.

I have a process. I am as negative as possible, because, when I am the Griz have won. When I have been positive they have lost. Yeah, stupid superstition, and I am popping off of here until Sunday, because I am just gonna say stupid stuff and I know it.

It's just my process.

Chill Cu, chill. Your atomic number is 29, you know, like your IQ. I write in jest. You are incapable of that understanding as you are early in Piaget's Concrete Operational Stage. Now, be a good little troll and Google this post and have someone try to explain it to you. Good luck with that.

Duly noted, brother.

Or it could be you have arrested development and a serious case of Oedipus Complex. I am your daddy. Don’t be bitter son.

Well, you ARE trying. ' "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," is an ancient Chinese proverb attributed to the philosopher Lao Tzu.'

Our backup has 13 attempts. No real reason to throw the ball around when you're just trying to run out the clock.

Just looking quick at the stats, if your backup is Jensen which I assume it is because he has your 2nd most attempts, he has 13.......

I get insanely irrational when it comes to the Griz/Cat game. That's why I popped off. I WOULD have said stupid stuff like this and more. I have no business on social media when it comes to the Griz/Cat game.
