This is EXACTLY what I expected

I have lived in Colorado for many years and would want UNC to win if the Griz didn't. With that said, you can't have such a total difference in team fouls without some bad refereeing. Quale and Selvig were mugged the whole game without any calls and they were called for weak fouls. UNC won't be in it next year. They are a one man team with a great player. It will be the Griz and Weber next year. Selvig needs about 30 pounds of muscle added to his frame. They need to make him into a center or make him play like Nowizki.

Thanks WCF.

I hate bitching about officiating, because usually it's just sour grapes. But in this case, the complaints are so wide-spread and from so many people without connections to either team that there absolutely MUST be something to it. And again, I really think most UNC fans really believe it as well, which is why they don't address the question I've asked repeatedly.

I'm watching the replay on espn 360 right now. Would you like me to count the "bad" fouls? I can tell you right now that there is at least 2 times in the first half where your guard clearly traveled but it wasn't called. Should I do a play by play for you?

Thanks for making my point, CWR.

I think I'll help Everett prove his point more, Im a Weber State fan and I believe both NAU and UM got incredibly homered by the refs both nights, when I was watching the championship game, I was almost glad Weber didnt make it, because I would have really been pissed if I had to sit through 2 hours of Weber getting homered as badly as the Griz did.

Yes, but you have repeatedly said you hate UNC, so you're not objective. At least Everrit doesn't say he hates UNC.

Silly kid. You obviously haven't seen us play.

This is stupid! An unc fan with his blinders on yelping about fairness on a Griz forum and expecting Griz fans to overlook the obvious. It is what it is. A poorly officiated tournament resulting in NAU and THE GRIZ not playing for the BSC championship. I suppose that 1 and 1 bull against NAU wasn't noticed by the score keepers tables. Just a weee oversight. Granted bigskybear you Finally advanced but don't think it wasn't with a BUNCH of help. Consider yourself LUCKY because thats what you are!

Bigskybear: Traveling is not a foul it is a turnover. Fouls suck the life out of you. Continue with your play by play. The refs were afraid that your fans would throw things at them if they did not baby your star.

Think about how dumb that is. "The refs were afraid that your fans would throw things at them if they did not baby your star." You don't really think that.

From Ryan Divish (Writer for The News Tribune out of Tacoma) on his Twitter:
"Wow. These refs are detemined to give Northern Colorado a win."

Not that I am disagreeing that the game was as horribly reffed as the UW vs UConn game a few years ago, but Divish is from Montana and is not the impartial Tacoma beat writer as portrayed.

Rather it be this year's tournament, or any game from any year, BSC officiating hurts who represents the BSC in the NCAA tournament.

As posted many times, in the NCAA tournament, officiating will let teams play more. There will be some questionable calls. With that said, you will like not see officials blowing whistles on BS calls like the last one on Cherry, or the block foul at the end called called against Adams.

As GRIZNATION witnessed against Boston College, the big conference teams bang and play rough all year. They are used to not getting ticky tack fouls called, for the most part. Every year the BSC players slowing down expecting the whistle. Meanwhile, the large conference teams play as if whistles do not exist. Within 5 minutes of the 1st round game, UNC will realize officials are likely to not bail them out with ticky tack calls. Also, do not be surprised to see Beitzel defended against very physically.

When BSC teams make the NCAA tournament they realize fast, this is a big boys game, which does not cater to the well protected BSC teams. Usually, it is a culture shock how different NCAA basketball is officiated in the BSC and the NCAA tournament.

For the sake of our conference, I hope, beginning next basketball season, we see BSC officials let them play more, and eat the whistle more. This whistle happy BSC is a joke when it comes to officiating.

Conversely, there was one play where a Griz player (I think it was Jamar or Steward) was called for a travel when it was clearly a jump stop and pivot. Again, the unbiased comentator made note of it...Is that included in your play by play?

We've been over this, but I know you're a "special" learner, so we'll cover it again:

They're big sky refs. They miss shit ALL the time. But they miss it for BOTH sides. No one would be saying a damn thing if it were just a poorly officiated game. We see that during intra-squad scrimmages in the bsc. What we are talking about is the number of people with no ties to either program saying it was not balanced officiating (that is to say, unc got ALL of the close, important calls, while all of the questionable ones went against Montana). Yes, the officials missed plenty for both teams. But when they blew the whistle, it nearly always went against Montana, and often questionably. Everyone not wearing unc colors sees it. And honestly, most of them do as well, if they were just man enough to admit it.

Beitzal still gets his points against better opponents. WAC and MWC the past two years.

That's their opinions. Why the personal attacks man?

I guess because I'm frustrated that you've still never answered the question I posed 3 pages ago, and I'm tired of this silly dance.

If you're asking why people independent of either program felt the griz got the raw end of the deal, once again I'll just say that's their opinion. I've also talked to a lot of people today who aren't part of UNC or UM and no one said anything about the fouls. Let's just move on?

I'm going to do something interesting here and concede your point: fine, whatever you say, UNC got a bunch of calls the last two nights.

All of this homer ref talk reminded me of an article I read in SI a couple months ago (I tried to find it online, no luck). The article was trying to determine why home field advantage exists, and the reason is the same across all sports: referees/umpires/officials give the home team the calls, and the more raucous the crowd, the more slanted the refs get.

So, you know what, UNC earned every call it got in that tournament by being the best team over the 16-game regular season and packing Butler-Hancock over those two nights. Montana could have had that advantage and those calls, but they choked against EWU.

You Griz fans need to quit your crying, accept the result of the game, and go get ready for the CIT.

Personally, I'm looking forward to UNC getting blown out in the ncaa tourney. They aren't that good. They probably won't match up well their opponent. Beitzel won't get protection and calls from the refs. They will be intimidated. And their obnoxious fans, like yourself, will deserve to see a butt-kicking.

What a lame ass argument. They EARNED having the refs basically CHEAT for them? And that game was by no stretch of the imagination your basic "homer". It was exactly what the ref(s) would do to make sure a team they wanted to lose DID. There are only 2 explanations: either they were on the take or they are so incompetent(and ignorant of what a foul REALLY IS)that they should NEVER referee another college(or any) game again!

...when the griz played new mexico...
...last year..they had a legit chance...
...of beating them..n c has no chance...
