This Class Tomorrow will have a big impact

On the future of Griz football one way or another. Most of the kids that will sign tomorrow will not see the field immediately. But here's a big reason why Stitt can't afford many "future busts" in this group...The 2016 class is going to be small as it pertains to full-ride types of players.

Here's a list of returning seniors who are currently on a full-ride package going into the 2015 season.

Jamaal Jones
Nate Harris
Addison Owen
Justin Whitted
Connor Lebsock
Jamal Wilson
KVA
Herbert Gamboa
Jeremiah Kose
Derek Crittenden
Tyrone Holmes

Ellis Henderson is a question mark right now as far as a junior or senior. If he's granted a medical hardship, that is 10 full schollies that open up at the end of 2015.

Seniors on a partial as of this semester
Eric Johnson
Jake Dellaserra
Stephen Shaw
Aschan Richards
I'm also guessing that Daniel Sullivan will be elevated to at least a partial for his senior season.

But assume Sully is still a walk-on for arguments sake, and when you put it all together, if everything remains as is, the above list opens up approximately just 14 fulls for the 2016 class. Take into account other walk-ons and partials get bumps at the end of next season, and that recruiting class could be very tricky for Stitt and Co. That's why this one is a big one for the future IMHO.

Added: Another concern is, holy cow the Griz lose some firepower on defense at the end of 2015. Seven starters, plus Lebsock and Owen and Eric Johnson will play much bigger roles this season.

I am betting we will see 4-8 departures after spring, or after next fall. There will be a few kids that will realize that they just don't have a position, or will never see the field. Pretty common with a coaching change that includes a change in philosophy.
