there's a Montana team making a deep playoff run

UM is definitely better than William & Mary. There were several Tribe fans on BN last week trying to convince the MSU fan base that they had a shot. We tried explaining to them how much better the BSC is than the CAA. They weren't buying it. I bet they do now.

No question. UM rolls them too. So would Idaho, UC Davis, Weber, and Sac. And they were the best the CAA had to offer. Absolutely pathetic. Why not let the Big Sky and MVC have six auto bids each and let the rest In based on Sagarin rankings? Since JMU and SHSU left, any other conference is a joke.

Really? Our 1 seed just got beat by a joke conference team.

The Griz are better than Sac though. On a neutral field with their QB heathy, they’re probably +14.

They have scoreboard on Bobby. And have for 3 years.

That’s true. And certainly they outcoached Bobby this year, if only in that UM insisted on playing their worst option at QB.

But the fact is that SAC needed a bad call to go their way in order to hang on, at home, against a Griz team being led by a non-functional QB.

If UM played Britt, they win. If they had Johnson, they roll.

That is kind of a stretch. If Sac St had executed a couple of more plays successfully they may have scored another couple of more touchdowns. These "if" scenarios just don't cut it.

That’s the point I’m at as well. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts…. It is what it is. Bobby fucked up and was outcoached. The coach is part of the team.

I’ve got no respect for a team that needs OT to beat a Kris Brown led Griz team at home, with an incorrect call sealing it for them.

UM was obviously overrated over the first half of the season. But the Hornets were still frauds.

UM was overrated the whole season.

And if only Jessica Alba had gotten to know me she’d be Mrs. EverettGriz now.

Cmon dude. You know this ain’t how it works. They didn’t execute. That’s part of the game. Intentionally caused injuries and ridiculously horribly fvcked up replay calls are most certainly NOT a part of the game.

Here’s the facts….msu did not play one, not one tough team on the road and only played one tough team (weber) at home. It’s funny how some think msu is just going into Brookings and roll the Jackrabbits (a tough team on the road). They are rough and tumble and play gap sound defense and big and mean up front on offense with an NFL caliber TE. This game is all about who makes the least mistakes. There is good coaching on both sides of the ball and hopefully the refs don’t get in the way. SDSU 34. msu 24

It really seemed like Sac wasn't focused at all...maybe because they found out their coach was leaving before the game...

738 yards and 63 points was pretty impressive for an unfocused team. 4 TOs and a defensive meltdown against a star QB and RB validate the point. Montana 2002 all over again. Andy Thompson had his nose rubbed in both.

I was thinking more along the lines of their defensive performance when I wrote that. Offensively, it looked like Idaho St could have put up 50 on those guys. Not sure how much stock I put into Sac's offensive performance.

Maybe it was a travesty they got the seed, but MSU averaged something like 10.8 against us, so hardly bragging rights.

And arguing about ‘degrees of suckiness” is a fool’s errand.
They averaged 6.8, and before their scrubs came in, it was just under 8. You're right, both suck, but to say they weren't that much worse than us is just not right. We would've beaten that W&M team by several scores.
But only if your very good starting is in the game, and not feeling under the weather.

Britt would've beaten them, too.

Hell, Brown probably would've. They were trash.

Unfortunately injuries and bad calls are a part of the game. Griz were not deep where they needed to be. Injuries exposed them. Lots of work ahead this offseason for the Griz.

Did the Cats play the gris this year? Am I missing something? This gris team was a joke and got beat by literally every team they played with a winning record. The cats didn’t punt, that’s RTD!
