"The Wait It Over"

AT the time Dennehy moved to the job, it was not a very desireable job. Props to Anderson for elevating it. I do hope it remains at a high level and/or improves.

He did at USU what I believe McEwain will have done at CSU.

We're talking about a guy who is very picky; a guy who along the way could have caught on as an OC at some pretty good schools - and who emphasized that UM was a better choice for him than a third of the FBS schools. All of which leads me to wondering what expectations might have been whispered in his ear by an AD who could boost of 25K sell-outs and a new student athlete training center and locker rooms?

How much of an iceberg is visible to surface observers...maybe 10%?...

He got a three year contract, which is something of a ground-breaking move in Montana for coaches.

Huh? Isn't that the standard/maximum contract length? :?

You might be right. I thought it was a year, and that was a point of UM and MSU's lack of competitiveness for good head coaches. I might be out of date on that. My contracts are still annual. :(

Research:
University of Montana head football coach Bobby Hauck has signed a new one-year contract with an option to re-negotiate a multi-year deal after the 2007 football season, UM Director of Athletics Jim O'Day said Friday.

"This is very positive news and will allow us to move forward," said O'Day. "It should end any speculation or distraction and will give us more time to address areas within the proposed three-year agreement that might be of concern to Bobby or the University."

Previously, one-year contracts were the only option for a head coach in football or men's and women's basketball at The University of Montana. Last fall, the Board of Regents approved a resolution allowing UM and Montana State to offer three-year deals to the head coaches in its three major revenue-generating sports.

In any event, just in case some of you missed it. I think Stitt was the best hire since Don Read and will bring back the interest and excitement in Griz football. More undecided kids will enroll at UM to attend school and we will begin to gather in excellent future players as time goes on. The chances of him failing at this job is 1.5 out of 10.0

I'm with ya Umista! Stitt is going to bring in talented student-athletes, and will win a lot of games at UM. Big things are on the horizon...
