The Season - Don't disrespect them, praise them

Bobby was a really good intramural football player and his brother played in the NFL. So while he did not play football himself for the Griz, he has been around the game his whole life and does not think of football the same way as the “never played the gamers” referred to on egriz. Bobby Hauck’s dad was a big shot high school football coach.
I didn’t realize playing intramural football and having a brother who actually played real football was something anyone put on a resume. My bad.

And growing up with a coach dad, and playing high school football. And coaching his whole adult life. What's your resume on football? Anything at all?

It’s not about the resume. It is about how he thinks like he played at a high level because he has been around coaches and people who played at a high level his whole life. That is why he doesn’t have the “never played the gamer” mindset.

hoops the money you give is a mere pittance compared to serious donors. You don’t get to call out anyone out, blowhard.
I have never said I give any. But a number of my friends are large donors and are the biggest football donors other than the occasional huge gift of the Washingtons from time to time. One was asked by Engstrom for $7 million for the Performance Center. One is worth several hundred million and a huge football and Bobby fan. Wake up, and watch what I am saying.

You don't even know who the big football donors are.

There’s only one person on this site who plays the “never played the game” card and his posts prove his football IQ is extremely limited. Why does anyone who has real football knowledge feel compelled to try to impress people with who he knows and his team’s success more than five decades ago if he actually understands today’s game?
Bobby growing up around a father who was a successful football coach is huge…playing intramural football…not so much.

Actually, I do…that’s why I know you have never been one, big shot. Knowing people who have been significant financial contributors doesn’t make you important. Knowing people who understand the game doesn’t give you a football acumen. You are a fraud at multiple levels.

It’s a stupid thing to say anyway because people who understand the game at a high level and didn’t play, like Bobby, actually look at and understand football on a deeper level than people who did play. That is because people who didn’t play at a high level have to learn why something happens in football first instead of learning how something happens in football first and then learning the why second.

There are some notable exceptions such as Al Borges and Mike Leach but to say people who never played develop a deeper level of understanding of the game is a complete fallacy.

As a whole yes you are right. Those notable exceptions like Mike Leach, Bobby Hauck, Al Borges and Kenny Dillingham are usually more analytical and innovative than coaches who have played the game. They are in the rare group of people who didn’t play at a high level and still have a deep understanding of the game.

I’m not sure how you can logically include Bobby with the other three names and those examples are anomalies far from the norm. You are entitled to your opinion but there’s absolutely no way you can support it so there’s no reason to debate it with you. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Bobby is quite analytical and innovative, to a fault in my opinion. Who is an example of a college head coach that didn’t play in college that you would not consider analytical and innovative more so than average?

That chant and the people who do it are as equally as stupid as fans who chant FTC..
I have never, in my life, heard any Griz fan chant FTC. Literally never. And certainly not at weddings, funerals, hell I even heard it once in Flagstaff at a ‘Scat/Jacks BASKETBALL game. Y’all literally NEVER stop thinking about us.

Classic, you hate the bobcats so much but just had to go to one of their basketball games not involving the grizzlies..
