the reason the griz defense sucked

The defense was great.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there was an all-important red zone stop in the first quarter. Couple that with the fact that at least one of the touchdowns came from a big play out of the red zone and the (red zone) stats weren't too bad for the day. :thumb:

Red zone stop/turnover.
Turnover deep in Sac State territory.
Critical stop in OT to force FG instead of TD

game ball to the defense.

45 points in regulation and the game ball goes to the defense??

Well, without that critical stop in OT we'd be looking up at Sac State in the standings....

As a Sac fan, I was more impressed with the two shots Safron took and came back to play. He looked dead after both, not moving. Both times they started to call in the cart.
safron is one tough kid. I thought his ribs were cracked after that last big hit.

this is true. but without "bending" to the tune of allowing 500 yards of offense to ONE player, they're (sac) looking up to the scoreboard, down a couple scores. defense had a couple standout, very important plays, ESPECIALLY wag's knockdown. BUT, they were sieve-like all day.

Lethargic defense makes our opposition look better

But saffron out ran pursuit time after time he is fast enough, sure he is not always spot on connecting passes but hit on em when needed

Tough kid but jj just as hardy and a winner/leader

just maybe, a lot of this could have been avoided if worst makes the field goal....who know how it goes from there...

Impressive QB who I would take over Vermin any day. I thought both those plays would end in bring out your dead moments. Tough kid!
