The offical game day thread, with presidential approval

Congrats on a clean game. You guys seemed star-struck, I know you are a better team than what you showed. Thing is, our Bigs played well and yours didn't. Also, bench depth. And Jordan Taylor.

Anyway, still a big fan of your FB team and will continue to be. On Wisconsin!

Well its finally over lol. Stop the pain.

Woulda been nice if Cherry had shown up, but oh well.

Woulda could shoulda. Griz could have kept it close pretty easily but had worst game Ive seen in a while. Not playing up as much during the regular season hurt UM in their game IMO.

Next year.

Congratulations Wisconsin!

The Griz had a clunker game. Notably, they were pressing and taking difficult shots and only 36% shooting, 33% on 3-pointers, with only 8 assists and 18 rebounds.

We were beaten in all phases of the game. But, I have said during the season that our offense does not have enough screens and movement without the ball. Too much dribbling and going one-on-one. Against a great defense like they faced today, they had no prayer running that stagnant offense. They can get by doing that against Big Sky caliber players, but not Big Ten caliber players.

Cherry was absolutely awful today. How many times did they have to block his lay-ups before he figured out that it was not going to work today??? Montana does not seem to know how to move wing shooters into the open space when Cherry drives. They stand around and watch, giving the driving guard no passing lane to kick the ball out.

I lost a grand today betting on UM today. They played their worst game of the season. They did not show much heart today, and looked tentative most of the game.

I agree, there was no movement off the ball today.

Growler, you really are making an assumption thinking Cherry even looked to pass.

No, I agree that he did not really look to kick it out. But, I was watching the perimeter players as Cherry drove the lane, and they all became spectators. No movement on offense. They did not run a single pick-and-role, not one give-and-go. It was all one-on-one stuff.

Thanks for trying to cheer us up

The Griz just need a STRONG big guy, and not be so hesitant to shoot. Cherry and Jamar cannot do it all. Stewart was a force but he needed some help. UM went far with what the team had, and next year looks even better...The only surprise of this game was the final score. Cherry tried but UM is simply outmanned under the basket. Every game the Griz lost this year goes back to that...the 3 was falling for a while but then seemed to vanish in favor of challenging underneath...5 blocked in a row and this game was over...UW is good, but not THAT good..

That's O.K. dude. I can afford it.

The Griz played so well as a team this year....until today. Kareem and Cherry, too much individual play trying to be big stars and do too much on their own.

I was wrong. The Griz DID run one pick-n-role late in the game, with Selvig. He tried to pass to the roler, but that player was held, and we got foul shots.

Please let me know what top 50 recruit will come to Wisconsin :)

Teams like us have to manage expectations. I went to UVM (Vermont) for undergrad and that side of me is just happy to make the tourney.

Sam Dekker - 2012 probably is.

Bo gets a pretty fair number of top 150 recruits, however.

Brian Butch in 2003 has been Ryan's only McDonald's All American recruit, but Wisconsin has had some All Americans under Ryan including Devin Harris, Alando Tucker, and Jordan Taylor.

Ryan has stated he won't recruit a kid who has "people".

Cherry and especially Jamar didn't even show up. Steward and selvig had a great 1st half....they didn't have to do it all, they just had to show up.
