I like how turdandlong thinks a photo from 1970 can't be uploaded to a computer and photoshopped.
Sadly, through this process and now knowing his name, I started trying to figure out if there was any evidence he had been an athlete at UM. While I didn't find that, I now know a lot more about him than I meant to. The guy has all the mental capability to photoshop. It certainly would not be outside of his range of intellect.
Which, as much as I have been really annoyed with his inability to have a reasonable debate, is kind of a shock to me. But he would certainly be capable.
That said, nothing about this photo seems photoshopped to me. I am much more in the camp that he bought the t-shirt as a freshman. That would have been roughly in 1967, and the maroon would have been being discontinued at that time for the sales of sports gear. The maroon would still have been available here and there for sale with those colors. I am sure the baseball team was absolutely ecstatic for any revenue they would get, and any exposure from students wearing the shirts would be freaking awesome for the team.
I wouldn't be shocked if he told a lie that he was on the team, and then couldn't go back and admit his lie. We have all probably been there to some degree when we were kids, he just couldn't let this one go because it would be hard to admit once he landed his lovely wife. I'm sure that in real life he is a great person, and lovely to be around, and I'm sure we would get along fine to hang out. My guess, though, is that is the story.
