The most successful FCS teams of the decade

Sam Houston State should be #3 on this list.

Idk, people knew about SHSU before this decade. The description says it’s most successful, not best. For example nobody could argue the Bizon at #1 on the list because they went from complete national obscurity to a program that some people have noticed; all in the last decade. Even if most people still call them North Dakota, at least they’re saying something.

Good thing is it doesn’t have anything to do with people knowing them or not knowing them before the decade.

Didn’t they kick the shit out of both Montana and Montana State in the playoffs?

Uh, yeah, I know. The list is literally entitled: Ranking the Most Successful FCS Programs of the Decade. If, during one decade, you go from total irrelevance to people in Florida thinking the University of North Dakota has won 5 straight D2 NCs, you’re gonna be #1 on this list.

Na bro. Everyone in the state of Florida knows about NDSU. That is what they are getting superior talent like Christian Watson, Trey Dempsey, Jalen Bussey, Bruce Anderson etc etc.

This is very sad. Thanks, Royce. Ruins the most successful team of the 2000s, and severely wounds a very good University.

Calling UM the most successful FCS team of the 2000’s is like calling the Colts the most successful NFL team of the 2000’s.

The FCS team of the 2000’s definitely was App State. No question about it.

Now if you want to call UM the Buffalo Bills of the 2000’s, I won’t object to you.

Haha! Yeah, it’s definitely more like:
“Hey, were did that local kid go?”
“North Dakota.”
“Weird. Well, what do think about the ‘Noles next year?”

Check out the 4th sentence below. Most “successful”, as I said. 119 wins. Name any D-I team with more wins in 2000s.

“The Grizzlies had a winning season from 1986 to 2011. In Washington-Grizzly Stadium, they have a winning percentage of .890 including playoffs. They hold the records for most playoff appearances in a row (17), Big Sky Conference titles in a row (12), and overall playoff appearances (19). Their success made them the most successful program in all of college football in the 2000s (119 wins) and third most successful team in FCS in the 1990s (93 wins).”

2011, you are wrong again.
