I always thought that would be a great idea. I first saw that Auburn years ago and thought it would be great in Missoula. Most of the Southern schools do something similar. Stanford has the band parading through the class tents and it does fire up the crowd. I only wish there was a way to view the game without going cross country to a sad bar, since Big Sky TV won't show the game and outside of the NW, Root is an unknown....

Unknown outside the NW? They reach homes in 24 states.
not here or any place I've been to recently...

I live south of you, and I get ROOT NW all the livelong day. Every single restaurant or bar/grill I've been to on game day gets ROOT NW. Maybe you are subscribing to the wrong service and/or going to the wrong places.
Havn't been to a bar in years..wrong places I guess...In Pasadena, not much demand for sports bars, or bars, for that matter...

Colorado Ave. has all kinds of restaurants with lounges with flat screens. They almost exclusively carry DTV with the sports package, and thus, carry ROOT NW. I used to go to every UCLA game at the Rose Bowl, and never missed out on whatever was playing on ROOT (back then Fox Sports NW) after the game at dinner. Maybe just ask your server to change it up.

By the way, here are 13 Yelp pages of sports bars in Pasedena: http://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=sportsbars&find_loc=Pasadena,+CA

Take your pick.

Have not been to a bar in years. Don't like them. I guess that's why I come to this site for UM sports news..I will be in Palm Springs this week end and I know the place that has the Griz game roundup but have a function to go to...Have fun..

You have fun, too. I suppose I reacted to your thinking that there was no demand for ROOT NW in the Southland. I also suppose that you recognize that is not true since the Beer Hunter in La Quinta will have the game in the desert. So, I therefore suppose that your original supposition that there is no demand for ROOT NW in the Southland is untrue. Have fun at your function. In the future, if you choose to attend such a function rather than watching the Griz, when watching the Griz is so completely and readily available to you, maybe don't complain about not being able to watch the Griz. Just a thought.

If you have a smart phone you can get the game anywhere you have cell coverage. It might be a lame game cast but you still get it.

How is this getting out to the public? Maybe 200 people go to the game read egriz. Pretty sure they need to drum it up in the missoulian and with as much press as possible. Also many people won't be at the game yet at 1.

From the Missoulian: "Delaney hopes to start a new tradition Saturday with a “Griz walk.” The UM players, coaches and band are inviting all fans to join them on a walk from McGill Hall to the football stadium at about 1 p.m."

Most Griz fans I know will be tailgating before 1, however, not sure how many of Griz Nation will leave their tailgates since many can't seem to leave prior to kickoffs to start the half's. I recommend you all show up because if it is anything like the Griz tunnel walk that I was fortunate enough to experience while working for the athletic department it will pump you up.

If it goes down like the Prowl, it will continue to grow each game/year. Families with kids will be a lot of the crowd, but it will add something to the gameday experience for them. I know there are quite a few people that could give a rip about tailgating, but they show up early so their kids can go to the Prowl.

Delaney must of liked how the cats do it  haha

Yes, the Bobcat Prowl has been an awesome tradition in Bozeman 8 years now! If this takes off and actually becomes a tradition at UM (I honestly think that would be a cool thing), 10 years from now jackwagons from egriz will be telling the world how they invented these type of walks and everyone else copied them.

Hey Cat Pride, it is common knowledge amongst us armchair quarterbacks that UM was the first University on this planet to think of this idea back in like 1984, however, the athletic department put this Grizzly walk invention to hibernation to wait for the perfect moment such as the brawl of the wild. They even originally called it the Grizzly Growl which was obviously stolen from the Bobcats in their attempt to get us all to forget the TOT. Damn copycats... ;)

No no, your players literally have to walk across campus to get to the field, it is a necessity...aren't the Cats know for some other walk they always take this time of year???

Bobcat Prowl? Never heard of it. Now your "Trail of Tears?" Epic and very well known!
