Yes, that is the origin of "Gris". It was a female player who wasn't an American who wrote out it out in newly fallen snow on the tennis court after a Spring storm.

It was more like 5 years ago rather than 15. Whatever the date, a photo of it was taken and it became an instant hit on bubcat nation.

That's just...weird. Even by bub standards.
 
Listen I can give two shits about a chant that makes the cats look bad. Honestly, the reality is at this point in time they own the state. They could be very well on there way of a long streak over the Griz. Ending the possibility of that should be the focus. We have been out recruited, out hired at coaches and outplayed on the field.
I had hoped Bobby and his staff had something better to show in Bozeman. To beat a team twice in the same year is difficult. But we just didn’t get beat we got manhandled.
I like Bobby and always have. But he needs to prove something big this next year. I for one am not satisfied with a semi final loss. I want it all. If Bobby cant achieve what he did this year then maybe it is time to look elsewhere. Goal one beat the cats to take back the divide trophy. Goal two win the BSC. Goal three a deep run in the playoffs and NC title. If Bobby can’t get goal one done then it’s time to bring in someone new.

It’s even stupider than that. It was a Spanish or South American tennis player. The Spanish word for Gray is gris. This is how the cat brain works. It’s like third graders laughing at a fart joke. I’ve never bothered to correct them on here because ultimately the joke has been on them.
