The days of the Griz dominating BSC are over

One big caveat: we HAVE to get the best MT kids (or atleast a lion's share of them) each year. History suggests, this is vitally important. (Read: 2006-2009 teams), and the griz alums that are in the NFL.

One other caveat: Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Much more difficult now than when the Cats were losing 16 straight. The past few years would suggest that your path in this area is at most, level, and may be uphill.

So you are intimating that Kirk is NFL material?

All Wx is right....we had an unbelievable run, 17 playoff years in row with multiple coaches. Appy and GSU had decent runs, don't know about GSU but in Appy's run it was one coach. Given the movement of successful coaches at all levels unlikely to happen again. The information age has allowed more programs to access more recruits and competition for recruits is nationwide. It's a new era. SEC rules for now in the Big Dogs, what happens when Saban retires. I remember when OJ Simpson played for USC and the PAC 8 ruled the waves or the BIG or the SWC years ago.

The only constant in the universe (ignoring physics, going Taoist) is change. Football is no different. :thumb:

It is funny to me that a few people think that the Griz should be the only team immune to falling apart or falling on hard times. Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma the list goes on. All of those programs had sustained runs as the greatest program in college football and all have also had MULTIPLE losing seasons and failures since. In the FCS, Appy, Youngstown, Georgia Southern, SAME THING. LIFE, and sports go in cycles. Shit happens. I never wanted to think about it happening to the Griz but deep inside I always knew it would.

James Earl Jones would like to have a word with you.

I guess the ones who thought moving up would the demise of GRIZ dominance were wrong. It inevitably happened at the FCS level too. It happens with all programs, regardless of level. Can only stay on top for so long. Our fall has not been drastic. I hope it does not get to drastic though.

"The best FCS caliber High School prospects in the nation will continue to choose to attend Montana..."

Seriously? In the whole wide nation...? That's some tall cotton, son.
