IMHO, Poly is the only sure win remaining on the schedule.

I think the Griz win 4 of their last 6, losing @ Weber State and MSU. I don't think their defense improves much down the stretch and they continue to win games in shootout fashion. I think 7-4 will get them a first round playoff road game, which they win. I see a second round exit after they're matched up against a SHSU, SDSU or some such team. At 8-5 on the year, Stitt gets an extension.

I don't disagree completely, but they seem to play us tough every time. Sure, CP isn't "on it" this year, as some of the doubters say, but then those same doubters are quick to say we have no chance.

I agree for the most part but this weekend will be a tough test as well. We will get blown away in bozeman if our defense doesn't have a "come to Jesus" moment and at the same time heal up some key injuries. Murray has progressed too much for us to expect to keep the lid on their offense this year. Unfortunately I think a big L is looming at state...To the playoffs, a first round win, and a Stitt extension? I am 50/50 on the playoff win (IF we get there), and I don't know how I feel about an extension. Does it come with the stipulation that Semore is gone? Are there other benchmarks (beating state, 2nd round win) that must be met in a potential year 4? I have always been a fan of at least 4 years to build your team, but the lack of improvement defensively, as well as the overall "tone" of the team lead me to think Stitt may be in over his head. (By "tone" of the team I mean an apparent lack of physicality, especially in the play calling, poor ST, and a seemingly lackadaisical approach to motivating and "pumping up" his team. There is no visible fire with Stitt.) I feel like we have a Rob Ash on our hands....also telling: cat fans LOVE Stitt....not a good sign.

He's 32-34 at WSU so far and went 3-9, 6-7, and 3-9 his first 3 seasons. Since then, 9-4 and 8-5...5-0 so far this year.
I imagine Coug fans are happy Coach Leach wasn't fired after his first 3 seasons...

I could agree if this had happened last year when we had 17 seniors just like this year. It didn't, did it?Stop_HammerTime69 said:Mistakes will be made as new talent comes in and experience starts becoming a factor.

Are they really the worst? They have two Rose Bowl appearances in the last 20 years, which is more than what Cal, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, and UCLA can say, and the Bruins play in the damn stadium. Wazzu isn't a bad program. They just hit a rough patch.

We see reference to adjustments all the time, and the failure of the UM coaches to adjust, but what are they?
How can some fans know that the proper adjustments weren't make, and how can we discuss the potential failure to adjust, if no one can actually point out what adjustments should have been made?

I think the point is that the guys PAID to coach should know what adjustments to make. We the fans don't have to know the answers, but we can certainly see when something is wrong. It's easy to say that, I know. But it's also true.

PR's got a point there. I would be curious to know what those adjustments are. It looked more like the guys got tired and the brakes started to get pumped in the Eastern game, and we started to play catch up, even when we were ahead.
Add "make plays in space" to your list and you got it covered [emoji106]AZGrizFan said:Stop_HammerTime69 said:MTGRZ said:PlayerRep said:What adjustments are the coaches failing to me, other stopping the pass, stopping the other team, giving up fewer points, scoring more points, having less turnovers?

I'd say they need to go more cover 3 zone prevent package, with a safety over the top, with press coverage on the wide outs, rush 7, drop 4, go to a nickel package and put the LB over the slot receiver. Maybe go to a 3-5-2 alternating with a 4-3 or a 3-4 to better cover the bubble screen or dump off...and watch the screens, streaks, slots, slants, posts and for f***[*] SAKE STOP THE RUNNING QUARTERBACK!!!
Disclaimer: I have no idea what any of that means. I stopped playing in the 9th grade.

Okay, I don't necessarily agree, but I'm good with your view. Also, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something that others were seeing. The D, while good at times and at key times, has to get better and stop giving up so much yardage and so many big plays on 3d and very long. It's okay if they keep picking off 5 passes a game. I'm good with that.
