The coach who replaces Stitt...

The Idaho State game will be interesting. Montana is led by an Offensive Genius and Idaho State, a coach with considerable Offensive coaching experience. The Montana team probably has more talent.
We shall see.

That being said...D coach is probably gone unless the D improves.
Someone will have to fall on a sword....
Stitt will be extended if we go 7-4 or 8-3 particularly if he beats MSU. What teams do you think we beat to get to 7-4 or 8-3?
ISU
CP
MSU
UNC
UND
I really hope we beat all those teams but I have no confidence in Stitt to get us those wins
Particularly difficult to see how we beat CPSLO since they are not on the schedule.

You blew that out of proportion...

Which seems to be the theme of this entire thread, doesn't it?

No, I don't believe so. Being concerned about a defense giving up over 500 yards a game is justifiable..

Now that I agree with.

But the as the title of the thread suggests, much of the banter here has been about firing Stitt and replacing him with someone who (1) won't take "so long" to cultivate a winning culture, (2) will never make a mistake in game management or play calling, (3) will always have better players on his team, at every position, than the other teams have and (4) will never have a need to learn anything else about coaching football.

I have taken the liberty of coming up with an exhaustive list of candidates who meet those four simple qualifications:

1)

Agree with your list. ISU is overrated. CP and MSU could come alive, but I doubt it. NoCo and NoDak seem like locks right now. I think we'll get all those wins.

My thread suggests Stitt won't be here long because his inability to address the issue at D-coordinator. He will crash with 'his' guy (Semore).

If you read my posts within this thread, I have been quite complimentary of Stitt.

Like it or not, this is D1 football. It's perform or be gone. Montana's program has been set back extensively for a variety of reasons... It's time for there to be a visible upswing in every phase of the game.

My previous posts also explain I don't feel Montana has an issue in the talent department...

Every couch should be constantly learning, but there is a 'floor' of situations they should be familiar with and understand.

Not once have I expected perfection from Stitt or any other Griz coach in history!

Yet another poster unfamiliar with Montana's schedule. Cal Poly is not on it!

Of those likely wins, I'm most nervous about MSU and CP. MSU because it's a rivalry game, and CP because they always seem to have our number in recent years. Hoping for the best.

We have no chance of a win vs. CPSLO this year.

I agree, absolutely no way CPSLO can be counted in the win column this season.

Well, I pulled those out of my ass while driving down the freeway, so there's that.

It will be great to shut up the doubters saying we can't beat SLO.

Okay, I'll cool it a bit. I guess I expected that you'd have some previous knowledge of the constant Stitt bashing and team bashing that goes on around here on a daily basis.

I guess what I'm saying is by now you should be a premiere eGriz power; you've made over 15 posts...How long should we expect you to be on a steep learning curve? :D

I was going from memory driving down the road. Sue me.

The other four are probable wins. Add NAU to that list instead of CP.

Semore also said after he gets them this year they will probably make adjustments and he heard on EGRIZ that he isnt so good at those so dont count on him next year as it will be a crapshoot!

We are fortunate that our "easier" road games were early in the conference season - just keep improving. Win the 3 remaining home games (UND, NAU, UNC), and one of the 3 road games (ISU, WSU or MSU) and we probably make playoffs at 7-4. Interesting though that at beginning of the year, most thought our toughest opponents would be at home - that may not be the case now.

Fans posting critical opinions on eGriz? No way... Clever response... So, how do you think this team will finish?

I think the Griz win 4 of their last 6, losing @ Weber State and MSU. I don't think their defense improves much down the stretch and they continue to win games in shootout fashion. I think 7-4 will get them a first round playoff road game, which they win. I see a second round exit after they're matched up against a SHSU, SDSU or some such team. At 8-5 on the year, Stitt gets an extension.
