The Bubble is down!

You can be unhappy with the bubble whether you gave money or not. But complaining about the bubble if you didn't rings a bit hollow since lack of giving is the driving factor in why the bubble was deemed the best current approach.

Got it. Moving forward, in discussing the bubble, maybe we should require a “giver/nongiver” designation at the beginning of each post. Only then will we know whether any critique of the bubble within that post rings hollow.

It should go by dollar amount. Like, if you gave $1k, you are allowed to criticize the bubble 1 time. But if you gave $10k, you can do it 10 times. We’d have to decide on a “Platinum Unlimited” dollar amount that allows you unlimited criticisms. I say $250k+.

Edit: I just thought of something. What if some jackaloon comes along and says he or she didn’t give to the bubble because he or she didn’t think it was a good idea in the first place, so he or she chose not to support it? We need a name for these detractors. Detractors?

I literally think the bubble is dumb, but I realize that the belief in the AD and University is the timeline to finance a permanent structure is minimally impacted by the decision to move ahead with the bubble but that timeline is still several years down the road. The decision was to move ahead with something while they continued working on a path for later.

Well since practice starts in a week and we are in a heat bubble with multiple fires and Missoula is socked in unhealthy air - maybe its time to ask why the Griz paid millions for an ipf that they can actually use when they really need it. That’s what time it is.

What is the total revenue for all those sports combined? Soccer has some good crowds but the rest? The softball field is a very cool little park. That is a a great facility. To say that AD Dept "doesn't care" about student athletes because they lack some facilities is just being over dramatic. Where should this money come from when they don't generate any money? Do you think students should have their fees increased? Boosters with deep pockets are spending their money on NIL now on the sports they follow. Which the largest share it seems are football then Griz and Lady Griz basketball. In today's landscape "olympic" sports are going to get the short end of it everywhere not just at UM. That is just reality.

Yes, many mountains. Eagle, Moose, Kelso, Pine, Brule, Lima, Disappointment, Oberg, Mystery, and more. They are not nearly as impressive as the mountains in Montana but they are all covered in pine trees with some deciduous trees where the pine trees were removed. They are all located in the Superior National Forest which is north and west of Duluth. It's the part of Minnesota that reminds me the most of Montana.

Back when I was dating female flatland square heads, I was convinced by the folks who built a chairlift at Afton Alps on a 70' pile of garbage to achieve greater altitude, that 400'of vertical drop was the hallmark of a first class ski facility. Yes, the Golden Gopher crowd likes to make mountains out of molehills, but out here in the west nobody cottons that kind of lipstick. "Eagle" fancies itself a "Mount" the way "Vurger" fancies it's real beef. Really, just where do you think the term "ski hill" came from?
