The Brawl on ESPN Gameday

The Oval is practically out the front door for Elrod, Craig, Duniway, Miller, Panzer, Knowles and Jesse. Pretty sure crowd size wouldn’t be an issue.

didn't realize those dorms still existed, so good point. probably a lot of students who don't care about football will want to be in the party. but, isn't 21 the drinking age in montana? i could be awkward. i suspect they've handled it before, though.

I have never much rooted for UM until now. Game Day in Missoula would be awesome for the State of Montana, both universities and the history of the rivalry. Good Luck!

I hope if CGD shows up they do their research to describe how important this game is to the two fan bases. Would be really cool for the players too, hope it happens. Both squads need to take care of business next week… I thought we’d have it at bobcat stadium last year only to get blue balled. Let’s see if they lead us astray again.

A full WaGriz looks better on TV than bobcat stadium. I don't even think that's a biased opinion on my part.

No it’s a cool venue for sure, last year with #3 vs #8 and the brawl would have sealed it for me though. Very similar to how they didn’t chose EWU when it was #4 vs #5. Seems like each year we start this rumor and they bail for something else last minute.

With Michigan State going down and decidedly not coming back to the top 5 anytime soon, I dare say this has to be the closest thing to a best bet for ESPN.

A break from predictable, snow, Corso putting on Monte's head (unless he's making a legit prediction  ), showing off a top tier rivalry in a state that has drawn fascination in pop culture - Yellowstone, etc etc.

Also did anyone consider maybe Musberger might be the guest picker? He's calling games for the Raiders but he lives in Hamilton most of the time.

Musberger was the guy I mentioned….early on.

He does the Raiders radio broadcasts. They play Sunday night so they could get him back to Las Vegas for sure. He would be fun to have. JK Simmons I think is front runner with Jeff Ament close.

Yes I’m hopeful it’s a UM alum and not Musberger.

They try to always have someone from the hosting school... I would be disappointed if it was someone other than a UM alum.

Doubtful Wa/Griz even gets on TV (would be nice). The broadcast goes until the first kickoff for the Eastern time zone. Then the guys are out of there. Herbstreit even flies and sometimes broadcasts another game that night.

I'm old enough to remember ESPN coming to a UM/ Idaho basketball game at the beginning of the first Gulf war...

I fondly call it the "Potato beatdown game!" Granolas getting beaned with Potato's and drug off by their hair... Nothing better on live TV, EVER!

Sure wish I had a copy of that video...

"We have protesters on the court... the fans are throwing something at them... Its Potato's.... the fans are hitting the protestors with potato's !!!!"

Sounds like Utah is going to be shocked when GameDay comes to Missoula :) They don't even think it is a possibility or being considered.

We need a pro-Griz homer for the guest. Super Dave.
He's a little busy at the moment.

Gameday is over by 10 am and he has the Blue Bombers in Calgary at 5pm. Plenty of time for my private jet to get him home in time.

Big question is can Gameday tear down the set, and move it to Missoula w/in six days?
Second big question is can they FIND Missoula, let alone Montana on a map??
Third big question is WHERE will all of them stay??? Every room will be booked by now.

Fond memories of Duniway Hall. Saw my first cockroach there, and it wasn't my roommate. :o
