THE 6th ANNUAL BRINTY AWARDS

Brinty.jpg
Welcome back lady and gentlemen. The votes are in and the winners for this year's Brintys will now be crowned.

As a public service announcement, an Amber Alert has been issued for Jodcon. A frequent poster on the e-Griz board, he has not been heard from recently. There are reports that a man that matched his appearance was sighted in Lake and Flathead Counties over the holidays. He was reportedly in a "man powered hamster wheel" towing another man's pontoon boat around Flathead Lake. He was reportedly heard saying, "I'm taking in water and I don't think I can make it to the Lake House, Boss."

If you have any information that could confirm the identity of this man, please keep it to yourself.

On to the awards . . . after a word from our sponsor . . .

Remember ladies, there's meat and there's Wang. You deserve the very best, you deserve a Wang!

If you agree with him or not, he got off his ass and did something.

I should add that I'm going through this exact same thing as a coach, and therefore, I'm more than qualified to critique the Griz coaches.

This season for me: win big, lose big, win big, lose a close one, win, win. Here's the rundown:

1-The Sour Apples didn't stand a chance in the opener. Undisciplined play. Likely a lot of transfers.

2-The Purple Rock Stars were just that. Hand picked, and well-coached. Many fans were calling for my head afterward even though most of the Rock Stars were 5, and we were forced to play three 4-year-olds. Our kids gave a great, injury-free effort, and we simply moved on as a team.

3-The Cheetahs came in one player down with a tantrum, but it was still a rout win for us. Most fans thought it was just because the Cheetahs were depleted. Many still wanted me gone.

4-The Cherry Bombs looked great in warmups, but we jumped out to a 4-0 lead. They came back and took it 5-4 when we had two fucking own goals. Also, I had my best player go down with a bee-sting at the 13:24 minute mark. I was a gonner for sure. Let's just say the community was "organizing." Many said I adhered to the "no goalie policy" too strictly, as many squads got around the rule with a defensive specialist. But I stayed true to the spirit of the game.

5-The Pink Princesses came in looking tough on field #5. Trap game. We were the 8am game with four players who are "bad waker-uppers." We sneaked by in a shootout 12-9. Parents said our defense was atrocious.

6-The Blue Bombers. They were very disciplined in pre-game and snack time, but we knew we had them from the first kickoff when they took seven minutes to line up correctly. They had a few garbage goals in the first half, but we unleashed the beast in the second to win 8-4.

As a U6 girls' soccer coach, I know what the Griz staff is going through with all the naysaying, bally-hoo, and chirping from those who have never coached the game. It's like, hey, Linda, I don't give three shits about when Grace's violin lessons are, if your kid doesn't do the sprints on Wednesday, she sits on Saturday morning. I'll give a few tidbits here and there to the fans at the PTA meetings, but we stay close as a team in terms of scheming and long-term goals. Sorry not sorry. I'm trying to win a championship for the Purple Mermaids here, and I don't have time to listen to jokers from the stands.

Why should college athletes be held to higher standards than others?

There are many, many reasons. I'll list just two:

(1) because it is a privilege to represent the University of Montana, and before you earn the honor of doning a uniform that says "Montana" on the front, you make a commitment that you will not do anything to harm that brand. Part of sports is teaching about honoring one's commitments, and that there are consequences to one's actions.

(2) for precisely the same reason that you do not brag incessantly about having chess club members at your cabin.

Trumaine Johnson top 25 in NFL

There should be a qualifying exam to be a MT congressman ("idiot test") and the first question should be:

How old is planet Earth?
A) not exactly sure but it's super fucking old
B) less than 6000 years
C) bobcats suck.

If a candidate answers "B" he/she should be DQ'd as literally too stupid to represent anyone

Thanks for the info. A question I have, are you a Griz booster? Do you tweet with recruits and is that a problem re the NCAA?

I don't want to stir up anything but I'm curious as no one seems to really know the rules of social media. As far as I know, the NCAA has never punished any school for boosters contacting recruits or players on social media

Congratulations to all of the nominees and the winners!!!

Thank you all so very much! Thank you to the Brinty's, and thank you to the Purple Mermaids for teaching me a lot about myself. I cannot believe this is happening. I stayed out of the voting for the first time this year so I wouldn't jinx anything, but I truly believe this was the strongest year yet. Every single one of the finalists is more than deserving of this award. Leo told me after last year my time would come, and he was right. Thank you all. God bless this board, God bless the Griz, and God bless the United States of America.
