Run that play 99 more times and we never fumble and probably 60 of them are scores............so.........it was still a great call and it still is a great call. That 3 points wasnt going to matter anyway........

Going on 4th is one thing, running THAT play (to the short side) is another. The correct play for that circumstance is take the 3 and trust your D.

Nope, I don't agree. Alpha's post is right on. The play was set up so that the first option was that the back would be able to slip out alone into the end zone. There was also the option of JJ running or making something else happen. The play has been successful several times this season. Criticizing the play is fine, but saying the "correct" call was to kick the FG is not "correct".
Alpha and PR...I'm not one of your sheep...It was a HORRIBLE call...a game LOSER. I was 10 ft from the bench...THE TEAM was completely DECIMATED. Now S.T.F.U. because you don't know what your F.....G talking about... :stfu: ... :egriz:

No one ever said that the resulting TD was not deflating. So was the later fumble and return for TD. Was that call a bad one too? A blocked for a TD would have been deflating too, and would have been more likely than a 98 yard fumble return for TD.

As the game turned out, UM probably wouldn't have won the game with a FG at that point anyway. As Delaney and coaches felt at the time, UM needed to make its move at that time.

You obviously never played the game, and certainly never coached it. Must have spent all of your time learning how to be foul-mouthed.

If we had missed or had a field goal blocked, everyone would be saying "why didn't we go for it?". Personally, I liked the fact that they went for it...I didn't particularly care for the play that was called.

His usual defense when his arguments are shot down. And he thinks that anyone on here that did play agrees with him. Ha!

Total speculation to support a weak argument. I like our chances down one score and getting the ball to start the 2nd half.

Why isn't anyone on here telling us what Bobby Hauck would have done in that situation?
I just spoke with Bobby, he didn't say what he would have done but he did say that he would not have had JJ fumble the ball and would not have had the fumble returned for a touchdown. He thought those things were bad ideas.

It's so simple, why didn't Mick think of that?

I thought it was a great play...on first or second down. Fourth not so much.

80-17.

The man is a coaching genius, so I'd take his word on this one.

Poor decisions by JJ and the Griz. :geek:
