Thank You Jordan Johnson

Wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be the face of Montana football over the last 5 years. Hell of an athlete and an even better leader.

It's not gonna break my heart to see him graduate. It seemed like when he was allowed to do what he does best, you guys were never out of any game. Plus, he always seemed to have the Cats number. MSU had no answer for him.
I was glad to see him come back after his trial though. Especially after being found not guilty and having his name drug through the mud. Not many young men his age could have done it.
Good luck with whatever your future holds JJ.
Classy :thumb:

Time flies, the hardest part of being a GRIZ. We don't get to watch our heroes have 10 year careers like the pros, just a few too brief moments.

Jordy gave us so many of those moments!

What a leader, what a warrior!!!!

Off the field crap, injured receivers, different offences, a shaky o-line, concussions, twisted ankles. Didn't matter what was thrown in his face, he just did his best on got on with the job. Never heard him say a negative word or throw a temper tantrum. Class act all the way.

I was determined to be at JJ's first game back after his return. It was my son's first ever Griz game and we were fortunate to meet Jordan after the game and it ranks among the many highlights of my Griz experiences. Thank you Jordan for sticking with the Griz through thick and thin. We all appreciate it and we appreciate all you have given. Good luck in all you do.

We may have not seen the last of JJ. I know he wants to give pro football a look but if not wants to get into coaching. Loves Missoula and wants to stay. Assistant coach maybe????? I'm all for it!!!

+1 He has the pedigree. Dads a high school coach.. I wonder if he's interested in grad school. If so, grad assistant?

Not to mention, didn't we have a former Griz Dlineman as an assistant this year? The name eludes me, just vaguely remember him on the coaches show.

This would make too much sense, and I hope it happens. I bet JJ would work his way up through the coaching ranks rapidly too.

Interesting stat: In the ranking of the top 50 FCS QB's this year, JJ (on a total yards basis) comes in at #23, with 2,784 yards. He threw 24 TD's and only 6 INT's. In the ENTIRE top 50, only ONE QB had fewer INT's -- The guy who won the Payton Award.

Another interesting note: The NCAA link I got that info from has NO mention of Vernon Adams. :? :?

I believe he wants to teach and coach High School ball in Montana.

I don't think I've ever seen a young man placed under so much stress, unfairly treated by his U, and yet, stay loyal to that U, and to his team. Robin Pflugrad thought so highly of Jordan, he sacrificed his career. Even with that background, during the trial Mick Delaney showed up and demonstrated for JJ the support that cost Pflugrad his head coach position.

I don't know JJ, but based on personal recommendations by people that did know him, I spent some considerable time on the "case" on these threads, convinced by the evidence a great wrong had been done. A jury ultimately agreed.

I can't say enough about my impressions overall, of JJ's integrity and purpose, after that monstrous fiasco. That was enough to wreck anybody. Even with vindication, most would have "moved on." I admire his courage. I admire the fact that he stayed here. He "supported the fans," in much the same way that most supported him. He surely didn't owe anything to the University of Montana.

Perhaps no Quarterback at UM has elicited as much "attention" and I am certain that no Quarterback at UM has had to face a personal ordeal the way that Jordan Johnson did. I admire his response to it all. In reading that he has grown to like Missoula, and perhaps could establish a career here, I cannot think of a better addition to the fine people already here than Jordan Johnson.

....It's too bad Jordy can't hop in a DeLorean and go back in time and be 18 all over...I believe He along with the.... in-comming Stitt Factor would produce some magic...

Or should Stitt take a seat in the DeLorean as Montana's new Coach....and set the clock back to 2010??....and...Poof Delany is still a runningbacks Coach/and or retired...hmmm....And with a young Jordy...Whoa..nellie...stop the bus...

What a talent.

Thank you Jordy

Happy New Years!
