Stopped the guy cold initially, and then the kid spun to the inside on fell forward. Hermie did not get run over. Had he kept the rb from spinning and falling forward, the tackle would have been better. There are plenty of other examples of bad tackles.
Like this one, he is too high.
You are "too high" if you think Im wrong.
I know you are wrong on this one. I tackled in football and rugby in 5 decades. Tackling is my specialty. I also remember the play. Leverage comes from getting under the running, not just from being low. In this tackle, I believe Hermie got under the runner enough to immediately stand him up. In this photo, Hermie has already stopped the runner from running down field. The only problem was letting the runner spin back to the inside and fall forward. However, the initial hit and stop more than makes up for allowing the spin and fall forward part.

Hey, that is my son in the background with the grey sweats and black coat on. He works in the equipment department like I did during my college days for Hack and Stack. This was the best game atmosphere ever.
I guess I should add my two cents to the discussion. Having coached running backs and linebackers, I coached both that the low man wins as you have all said here. Head-up, pads down, wrinkles in the neck, bend in the ankles, knees, and hip, see your target, make contact, grab cloth, and drive his dick in the dirt. I was pretty impressed with Hermie yesterday on how well he was coming up and filling on run support. I think you should also show the video where he makes a great tackle during the game in which he also strips the ball from the ball carrier as he puts his facemask in the opponents chest. In the game of football, each and every play you win some and you lose some. We are 7-2, better than I thought we would be at this point going into the season, and I am excited at our chances of making it into the playoffs. The big sky conference has great parity and is a very strong conference. There isn't a team out there that is flat out dominating everybody. Yes there are two undefeated teams, but they have had their battles with the top-tier and the lower-tier of our conference and others. Gone are the days of UM being head and shoulders above the other teams in the conference, and blowing teams out like the Don Read/Mick Dennehy era. Teams have finally caught up thanks to the Griz. This conference has grown into a monster in the FCS. The quality and athleticism of athletes has improved immensely throughout the conference. We have seen the same thing happen the past twenty years with the Lady Griz basketball team. They flat out dominated the BSC for as many years in the 90s and early 2000s. There has not been a coaching change with that team, but you have seen the parity of the conference improve and the Griz no longer blow teams out like they had before. I don't buy that the Griz have declined to the level of their competition, I believe the competition has risen to the Griz's level and we have great parity instead of disparity.
Again, just my two cents worth. Doubt it is even worth that......
