"Tackling"

I expect more from you Alpha. the last picture of the CSU player is anything but a good tackle. The guy was leading with his head and looking straight at the ground. That's piss poor form, even if he is low.

I cant do everything for you............FU*K

we just don't get it....pr and kem are the only ones on this board that have spoken out that hermey is an excellent tackler and has great form and shoulder high tackles create fumbles and take aways etc......as stated pr's experience with beaucoup years of rugby overrides anyone else's opinion....pr states tripp has more tackles than coyle (+1 alpha).....if there is a book of hoyle on anything pr has the market on it...and the rest of us don't know sh*t.
so why counter....he is the only one that has played the game....please don't let this go beyond egriz because if the millions of football fans heard that they really do not know little to nothing about the game then the sport would completely collapse because they had it all wrong, why bother, and corporate america would be really pissed.
football is in a bubble according to some and bubbles can and usually bust.
opinions can cause dissent and dissent can cause contrariety.....which then we start all over again..like chasing your tail....change and productivity are at a minimum...hmmmm..this has a political ring to it.

Unfortunately Gregorak is running the same keep it in front of you defense Paulson ran under Hauck. The difference is past defenses were disciplined in their assignments, fundamentally sound, and relentlessly swarmed to the ball.
Shouldn't be a surprise; he was a Paulson disciple. But I think the real difference is we are today playing better offenses than we were in the Paulson era.

I don't buy into that or that the BSC has drastically improved. It's irrelevant. We aren't that good.

We get it.....you guys are epic douchebags.......WE KNOW

Hey maybe you can tell me to my face next weekend in Cheney............I am looking forward to it.

You are the idiot that put up those pics to show proper tackling technique, disclaimer or not. I'm sure with the millions of football pics on the web you could have found a couple that actually showed proper technique. Hermie's form was better than any picture you posted.

One of the most suspect players is Jordan Tripp.... yeah yeah legacy and all he is honestly not that great, just fast. Brock Coyle is the far superior LB. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I agree,I think Coyle knows his position better, and follows his role/responsibility on the field. He is the most consistent, but as other posters have put it Tripp is doing to much. There is a real problem with the DE in contain. Our LB's and Db's should not have to be having to commit to open field tackles so much, as there should be a slowing by the DE's to funnel in.

Wrong

So if we're talking pad level, it would suggest the Griz have also made plenty of good tackles too.

Is it just me or do these plays mirror the Bauman run for a TD last year? One tackler missed that EWU guy twice on that first clip.

He wrapped him up, as he hit him. Very evident in the video (@ 0:44 in slow replay).

This was actually a good tackle. Hermie filled very hard and fast. That part was great. Stopped the guy cold initially, and then the kid spun to the inside on fell forward. Hermie did not get run over. Had he kept the rb from spinning and falling forward, the tackle would have been better. There are plenty of other examples of bad tackles.

Like this one, he is too high.

You are "too high" if you think Im wrong.

I know you are wrong on this one. I tackled in football and rugby in 5 decades. Tackling is my specialty. I also remember the play. Leverage comes from getting under the running, not just from being low. In this tackle, I believe Hermie got under the runner enough to immediately stand him up. In this photo, Hermie has already stopped the runner from running down field. The only problem was letting the runner spin back to the inside and fall forward. However, the initial hit and stop more than makes up for allowing the spin and fall forward part.

This is not how to do it.

Low pad wins, you dont need to be an engineering student in Bozeman to understand leverage, center of gravity and proper form.

I know Ty says he practices this every week but I dont believe him.....and on the off chance he does we need a new DC that can teach it properly and hold people accountable for doing it wrong.
He had the same form when had a major hit and stole the ball. That would not have happened with a low hit. I'll take Hermanson's play yesterday every time. Tully and the corners, not so much. The lower you go, the higher the probability of a whiff. Also part of tackling is punishment; MH was punishing people yesterday.

Thanks Kem..... Hermy was on fire and punishing ball carriers all game. Give the guy some props... He deserves it...
So does this team. Hey wake the Fu(k up Griz nation and get behind this team! We're 7-2. Fu(k me!!
