He was a better athlete than you. :?
blah, blah, blah...
He was smarter than everyone else, he says as he trips. :P
blah, blah, blah...
Other athletes swarm to thank him for his manly prowess and benevolence.
blah, blah, blah...
He understands the obvious, that motivated individuals make a team better. 8-)
blah, blah, blah...
He admits he seriously needs a weight loss program and some Viagra.

a little insecure? I didn't mean take your control from you and make you feel less powerful. I hope writing that post replenishes those needs.

So instead of thinking it is cool by trying to get in somebodies grill on the Internet, boy that is tough. Why don't go out on a limb, have a conversation, and rebut what someone says. That is how intelligent people converse, whether on the internet or in person. What you did, is only prove you can act like a third grader on a keyboard.

If you would like to be a smart ass, I would be more than happy to listen to you in person. Are you going to the Griz/Sioux game? If so, look me up. Don't worry I will only laugh as I drink my beer. I will be the guy with a Sioux hat on. Yes a little overweight 6 foot 210 (when I was 125 I was 5 foot 3). with my wife, who is a beautiful lady, 5'9 tall decked out in Griz gear, helping out with the Alumini Booth.

Here I will make it easy on you. I am the one in the middle. Last years game at UND

Funny, you don't LOOK like a psychology professor... :| :|

a) I have no idea who KC is;
b) If the camera adds 20 pounds, that guy on the left must have had about 15 cameras on him.

a)KC=-keyboard cowboy, remember I called you that
b) DJ Colter, from Hysham, MT, played for the Griz 95-99. His Brother Curt Colter played on the 2001 Championship team, and passed away two years ago. My wife and DJ do the Griz part of the Cat Griz game in Fargo

Now THIS is what I like to hear from players (Weyer):

“None of us are young anymore,” he said. “We’ve played five games now and we all have to be veterans. We can’t act like we’re sophomores and have freshmen on our offensive line, because we’re the Griz and that’s not what we do.

“We have to perform every week. You can’t use an excuse and then go out and dominate the line of scrimmage and protect JJ (QB Jordan Johnson).”

That's what I'm talking about !!

Swagger starts and ends with the head coach. Of course the players are still confident. But there was something about those Hauck teams that was different. I don't know if it was body language or what but there was something about those teams that instilled confidence in players and fans alike and at the same time the opposing teams knew they were going to lose! I believe that is why Hauck pulled so many games completely out of his ass in the last couple minutes. I love Delaney as a man and am thankful for what he has done to get us through the tough stretch but I'm not sure this team absolutely knows for a fact that they are going to physically abuse the opposing team when they run down the tunnel. Of course Hauck had DOLA and studs like Lex and Chase imposing their will on the defense. Anybody that knows me knows I unconditionally support the team and coaches no matter what and this is not a knock on the current crew. BUT, I do miss the Swagger (not swogger) of the Griz teams of the 00's!!

Swagger comes from confidence, and confidence comes from success. Coaches help create success. Certain coaches encourage swagger. I agree that Hauck encouraged Swagger. As an aside, I have confidence, and a bit of swagger. Certain posters on this board have trouble dealing with people with confidence and swagger, in large part because they don't have confidence or swagger. You know who you are (as do the rest of us from observing your posts). I assume we'll soon see those who don't have confidence or swagger speaking up. Maybe even a who's who. Ha.

Furthermore, they likely have small poppycock syndrome. Wait, did I use that word correctly?

As an old friend of mine told me, "There is a difference between swagger, cockiness, confidence, and conceit." The problem is many who are either don't know when they have gotten to conceit. Great teams and athletes usually have swagger, cockiness, and confidence. Fortunately, most coaches don't let their teams and players have conceit.

I don't disagree. Conceit is beyond confidence and even beyond swagger. Swagger can sometimes come close to conceit. Confidence coming from success is the best place to be. I could take or leave swagger. Overrated.

...personally think the griz look great...
...so if you are looking for swagger...
...watch an old john wayne movie...

... 8-) ...

If your coaches don't have swagger, your team probably will not.

Agreed. However, I'm not a big swagger guy. There's a fine line between swagger and overconfidence. Overconfidence leads to unexpected losses.

Biggest "Swagger" team in college football history........Miami in the day?
Always loved to see work a day non-overt swagger teams wipe up on the bully boys of Erickson, Jimmy Johnson, etc. Nebraska, BYU (cammo game) and the best was Don James's Huskies came into the Orange Bowl and destroyed the myth of those pretentenders and their home winning record. Hauck was a swaggerer of some reknown until he came in contact with teams of equal or better talent and of course playing up the swagger was usually replaced with alibi's. In my recollection his teams played timid when faced with the Oregons or Iowa's of the world.

That's just dumb. "The bobcat has swagger, but in my recollection it becomes timid when faced with the grizzlies or the mountain lions of the world."

Pretty much this. NDSU have every reason in the world to be cocky as hell, but they still have a very workman-like attitude about them, regardless of the quality of the opponent. That definitely starts with coaching, IMO.
