No it's not in my head just ask my wife on game day I am a different man !! . Only one thing matters . Going through the gate 20 mins before kickoff ,grab my 50/50 tickets ,brat with sauerkraut, mustard ,and ketchup . have it gone before the coin toss. then sit in a section with a bunch of lame asses . with me and my family the only ones screaming every game !!!

You must be in the same section as Grizatwork.

You know it. I have people look at me like I am crazy when I pound on the bleachers. There are a few decent ones around, but my section has become the geritol section over the past few years.

<<<< Does polite Lawrence Welk clap. "And now, a few words from our sponsor Geritol!" You yourself, TCC, said you sit with a bunch of lame asses that are allergic to noise. Did it used to be that way? As I mentioned, some fans have lost the swagger (and I didn't essentially mean you)

What I gathered from your original post is the TEAM has lost their swagger, possibly because of the existing coaching staff? Are you implying MD came along swaggerless, which rubbed off on the players which in turn rubbed off on the lame asses sitting around you?

Wunderful, wunderful! Start the bubble machine!

I'm not really sure if swagger is the difference. I think the team plays with confidence. Players seem to carry themselves with that anyways from what I can see.

I think the main difference is that we consistently had the best or one of the best offensive lines each year in the past. That domination made a huge difference and allowed our playmakers to shine on offense. This year our line is young and inexperienced. They are improving, but they aren't at that level yet.

We can thank our chemist president for the slow decline of football relevance in western Montana. He is good at something at least... This is directly correlated to your concern.

EDIT: That said, I don't think there is any f***[*] way a Hauck-led team would have lost to Coastal Carolina last year.
Really? How different was it from the Wofford game?
Our key people were healthy for CCU, but Hillard had a pin coming out of his hand in the 2nd half against Wofford and during a key drive at the goal line, he was not able to go in with his typical force due to pain. He scores and we win the game.

Swagger has nothing to do with winning, nor does fans screaming in the stands. The mind and execution is all that matters. If you or your team needs fans in the seats to win games, then they are playing for the wrong reason, and will not be successful.

I wrestled all my life. In freestyle, most times wrestling up to find competition, as I was very small, I would sit at the mat while the other guy strutted around looking at me showing his muscle. While I had no muscle, and was probably 10 pounds plus lighter, I had no swagger. It was a blast, my Dad would laugh. He was never loud, just clapped, and told me what he felt after my match. Didn't matter, because I couldn't hear anyone when I wrestled anyway, I was engrossed in the mental part of the game, the zone. I wrestled for me. I could blame nobody, or nothing but myself if I lost.

So here would be this bigger guy, strutting out to center mat smiling, and me the little weakling, sheepishly walking out, tripping on purpose at times. The match was already won by me after the planned trip. Maybe a minute later, I would be the one smiling, hand raised, as they guy with the swagger just got beat by what he thought was a lesser opponent. I had the execution, talent, and mental game. I did not need swagger. Did lose the National Championship that year, so yes I was good. Swagger wouldn't have helped, he was just better than me that day.

Swagger to me is a coverup, of an insecurity, show your talent on the field or mat. Amazing how many college football players didn't have that swagger, after a 125 pound weakling would wrestle them, kicking their ass in front of their peers. What did I have to lose. Nothing. Win, and I get a free pass into the bar they were bouncers at, as I was not of legal age to drink yet. One guy, a cocky freshman football player, even came to my room the next day after I made him tap out a few times, begging me not to tell anyone. Wasn't my game to tell anyone. Later on he thanked me for the lesson.

Have all the Swagger you want, it doesn't make you better, I will take motivation. Every player on a team has something that motivates them, everyone is different. The difference between a good coach and an exceptional coach is the exceptional coach knows what motivates each individual separately from the rest. If he can individually motivate then you have a team with synergy

Now I am 210 pounds and could use some Swagger, as the talent is gone.

Not crying in our beer on egriz would be a good start. This board is more of a fishbowl than some posters realize.

Swagger is the most used word in the whole fvcking universe. Douche bags use it, your kids use it, your mailman uses it, and your fvcking dog uses it.

If you got swag, you generally wear those sh!tty hats side way, and your ass hanging out like a fvcking goof cause your pants are half way down your white ass legs.

To break down the word, it means (Secretly We Are Gay). It is also a word that means to represent yourself, the way you represent yourself, baggy clothes, sh!tty hats, small penis and basically a way to say your afraid to come out of the closet.

If that was meant to be humorous, good job.

a little insecure? I didn't mean take your control from you and make you feel less powerful. I hope writing that post replenishes those needs.

So instead of thinking it is cool by trying to get in somebodies grill on the Internet, boy that is tough. Why don't go out on a limb, have a conversation, and rebut what someone says. That is how intelligent people converse, whether on the internet or in person. What you did, is only prove you can act like a third grader on a keyboard.

If you would like to be a smart ass, I would be more than happy to listen to you in person. Are you going to the Griz/Sioux game? If so, look me up. Don't worry I will only laugh as I drink my beer. I will be the guy with a Sioux hat on. Yes a little overweight 6 foot 210 (when I was 125 I was 5 foot 3). with my wife, who is a beautiful lady, 5'9 tall decked out in Griz gear, helping out with the Alumini Booth.

Here I will make it easy on you. I am the one in the middle. Last years game at UND

Well hell, if all it takes is a little bit of swagger to be successful, it's a wonder every team hasn't shotgunned a few cans by now.

Swagger is the most bullshit jargon word tossed around in sports these days. To hell with technique, or conditioning, or execution. Just put on a little swagger and all of a sudden everything clicks. Yeah, that's what the team needs. Swagger fixes everything.
I've even heard a few floundering coordinators suggest that their unit's miserable performance would improve if only the team played with swagger. Yet when the athletes actually improve, it's because of good tackling, good angles, etc. No one credits swagger.
